Does the city no good? Whose fricking fault is that?
People need to know the common occurrences in NOLA. If it makes the city look bad, so be it. Maybe the city should try to get ahold of its crime and bullshite.

Remember when some people here broke their arms patting themselves on the back because New Orleans got through the Super Bowl without a disaster happening? Looks like we’re back to normal.

Any resident of NO should be furious about a crime like this,
It should be obvious by now that the majority don't care or at least don't care enough to want to do what's necessary to prevent these kinds of crimes.

Growing up in NO during the 70's the French Quarter was great fun. Went down there all the times and would tell people " Hey just stay in the FQ and don't wonder out and you will be fine!" Those days are long gone. I left years ago but visit often for family and friends. None of them go to the FQ unless the uber to an eatery and leave once done. They don't stroll the FQ like we use to.
NO greatest asset is the FQ and should be a safe zone where people feel safe to visit. Yet the morons who have destroyed the city ignore it. They have some great places to eat but I can't believe how they survive with this crime issue that has taken over the FQ.

About the mafia, but when they ran things, they wouldn’t allow this sort of thing to continue.

In the 70s I lived near the Quarter. I went to school with a lot ok kids who lived there. They were all Sicilian. We called the French Quarter the Italian Quarter.
You are right about how safe it was, anytime day or night.
At 14 we would walk down Bourbon and try to peep into the strip clubs. The door barkers would close the door and run us off.
Queen city than.

From a distance it seems like she’s played nice in the sandbox with the state troopers and seen tremendous steps forward
A stark contrast to when Latoya froze them out of the city.
This was an ugly uncomfortable week crime wise and she’s had some major flops (nye barricades, application site being down for extended time) but overall the trends been big steps forward and I’d be comfortable with this being partnership not takeover. Growing man power and taking cases out of local jurisdiction are the two wins available at the moment.

To be fair this guy was arrested 3 times, most recently under her NOPD leadership.
He needed to be in jail for his gun and drug charges received while on probation for gun charges on the heels of charges for assaulting a teacher
Did NOPD need to assign a guy to follow this dude daily? They nabbed him 3 times on serious charges since he became 18 (now 22)and I’m sure more before.

The frick you can't.
There's no excuse. The people that live in New Orleans want this.
Otherwise they'd vote for someone different.
