Don't have any serious complaints about mine. They're all awesome, especially my 3 brother-in-laws. I look forward to seeing them all.

Seems like most of the in-law threads around the holidays are people talking about how terrible they are. They can't be all bad.

Mine are pretty cool. Very religious but like to cut up a little. They respect me because I treat their daughter well and have for 15 years. All her brothers and sisters are pretty cool too, so I guess I lucked out as well

I was pretty close to my FIL. He died a few months back though. My MIL is fine, just not particularly close to her.

Mine are great! My FIL lives at the base of a mountain range in Wyoming so we get to hunt, fish, ride horses through the mountains, etc.

My MIL is Filipino/a(?) and makes amazing food. My only issue with her were her surprise visits. She has learned to give us a heads-up these days. She lives three hours away so that’s my lead time usually.

I have a shitty feeling they will be the only parents left soon so I’m glad they’re cool. They treat me as one of their own.

My inlaws are great. We are very close and my wife jokes if we ever get divorced she would lose her parents in the divorce when the judge ask them (like a child) who they wanted to live with.

There was an understandable time when her mom was a little cold to me initially but when we got to know each other that quickly past.

Mine are outstanding.

Things aggravate me? Guilty. Small things. And, assuredly, this goes both ways.

But have given themselves to/of us for years and continue to do so to this day. Literally.

Thank you to my FIL's in-laws for treating him badly; of which, he promised to never do. And, he has never done.

I adore my MIL. But we are ready for her to move back home. She's been w/us since September as she's recovered from foot surgery. She should be going back home by the end of January.

And my wife absolutely adored my dad(RIP).

My BiL was killed(murdered) in a home invasion about ten years ago. He was a pretty good guy, just a bit of a free spirit. Tended to get into a little trouble every now and then, but nothing serious. My FiL and step-FiL are both cool as hell in their own ways. My MiL is tolerable. No complaints overall.

*present*

they're both great but my MIL specifically is pretty awesome. She and I have some awesome idea logical and political discussions (we are idealogically similar, but for different reasons usually).

My 4 SILs are all a little strong willed. All their houses are female dominated, so they tend to get their hands smacked when they start telling me what's good for my house.

No complaints besides they never pick up a check. They aren’t broke but I guess they assume their daughter and I are better off so we should pay for everything.

Never?

I could understand if they traveled to visit you and you picked up the check. Are you saying that you traveled to visit them and they still expect you to pick up the check?
