Since Obama, who imho really started alot of this, each side has grown to only hate the other side. No talking, or understanding, just hate the other side....period.
The country might have been bad off under Reagan, Bush, Clinton, etc., but you didn't see this level of vial hatred for the other side under those presidential terms.
