I don't see where you've answered any of these replies. Where would you rather vacation? In the mountains? A cool city? Disney? A cruise?
As some others said, a beach can be part of a great vacation. If that's all you're doing though is dragging all your beach stuff out of some generic hotel room everyday to watch the kids play and slowly get tanked, I'm sure it's boring as hell. But if it's at a resort where you can mix it up w golf, paddling, fishing, excursions, etc., it can be enjoyable. You gotta make the fam participate in things you wanna do.
Take control of your time away from work.

You’re right. I get tired of it easily after a hour. I’ve been to beaches in Asia, South America, Europe, Florida, Cali, Canada…All overrated af

The beach isn’t for everyone, that’s one reason those that like it do. And the first day or so can be an adjustment but after that it’s a beautiful.

The beach during the summer is pretty lame, honestly. It’s much better in the spring and fall.

There’s plenty of things to do at the beach than go sit in the sand. Inshore and deep sea fishing, boating to the bars to grab a cold drink and eat some good food. Kayaking, scuba diving, skiing, the night life, etc. Make the most out of it and don’t just park your arse in the sand all day. I love going to the beach, just not THE beach.

I don't hate it, but it's a once every 3-4 year trip, and usually only 3-4 days.

Beaches arent my favorite. We usually go in offseason so it isnt so hot.. but my wife has never understood how to pack light for anything ever and I turn into a fricking pack mule to get down to the beach. Then, once down there, it is pretty boring.. relaxing for a couple hours is cool, my kid having a blast is fun. Beyond that, im bored. So i drink. I dont hate it, it just isnt very appealing to me.
I'm a mountains guy.. hiking in the mountain trails puts me in a sort of meditative trance. It is deeply restorative for me, even if physically exhausting.. The mountain air, the views, animals, the quiet. Solitude.. Easy kayaking is great, too.

I love the beach, but do not like actually sitting ON the beach.
I would not enjoy a week at a high rise in orange beach.
We will be making our 5th trip this year to Rosemary Beach in a few weeks. We get a house off the beach in town. My kids are little, and they just like going to the parks in Rosemary and Alys and the pool. We'll make a few short trips down to the gulf but we don't stay out there. For me, it's just a place to go and be forced to spend uninterrupted time with my kids. My wife and I work so much we don't get that opportunity during a normal week.
