A Bombardier Challenger 604 jet crashed on the I-75 at mile marker 105 near Naples, Florida, and burst into flames.
The aircraft was on approach to Naples Airport, Florida (APF) when the flight radioed that they had lost both engines and were not able to make it to the runway.

The aircraft, N823KD, was inbound from Columbus-Ohio State University Airport, Ohio (OSU) and came down 5 km / 2.7 nm short of runway 23 at Naples Airport.

Actually we are. Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s it seemed like their was a domestic airliner crash every other year.

Strangely, i took a trip about 5 yrs ago from NOLA to Siesta Key.. on the way back, i got stuck in an epic traffic jam because …….. a plane had landed on I75.. safely though, i think.. ill see if i can find the pics i took .

A double engine failure is most likely a fuel systems issue. Or possibly a multiple bird strike.
