I’ve worked down in S texas. Was the ONLY gringo on a crew full of Mexicans. Broke bread (well, tortillas) with them, joked with them.
one of them gave me the nickname of muppet which he didn’t understand why I found so hilarious.
I cooked for them one day at a little fiesta they had for someone’s birthday after the night shift.
We passed around the tequila and laughed and joked. They called me “el gringo loco” and made me an honorary Mexican. Good dudes. Hard workers. I’d trade them for this Antifa trash any day
