Anyways...simple fix to his argument.

Romans 13:1–2

13 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For qthere is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

No one is stoping him from worshipping his god. But he is holding an unlawful assembly right now, does not mater if he is preaching the word or holding a kegger. Simply put this is beyond irresponsible for a “preacher”!

and I agree that its irresponsible. But at the same time, he isn't forcing anyone to attend the service. Nor do I think that it should be within the governors powers to prohibit the assembly.

if JBE sends out LEOs to break up crawfish boils this weekend, people will lose their minds. But its the same principal.

Not to worry, I don't go to church, and I'm not upset that this guy is getting shut down. But that's the pastor's fault for making himself a target by acting stupidly. And irresponsibly.

But I'm sure this will be adjudicated without anything more than a token fine.
probably will be adjudicated with nothing more than paying court costs. That's all they're after, a little revenue.

"Arrest" and presser was all a formality.
They are still planning on holding church tonight. That will tell the true story of how this will go.

Specifically, what constitutional infractions has the state of Louisiana committed with this action?

This is exactly what the pastor wanted to happen. He’ll be a martyr and fundraise off of this for years. Christians love being the victim. Really a brilliant PR move on his part.

All you “right to assemble not matter what folks...I assume you were equally up in arms when BLM protestors get arrested for assembling on roadways right?

Bc please explain to me the difference.

you don't see the difference between gathering in a building (let alone for religious purposes)and blocking a roadway for a protest?

YEAH, frick HIS CIVIL RIGHTS. THE CONSTITUTION DOESNT MEAN shite WHEN WE GOT THE COVID TO SCARE US.

You are a fricking moron. Its not about "scaring us". Its about resources and I can't understand how people are not aware of this yet.

Hospitals are near or over capacity as it is. The goal is to get this shite under control so that there will be too many people getting sick to the point there will people who will go untreated and they will have to do what happened in Italy, make decisions who lives or dies.

And to be 100% honest with you, I wish people would get this shite and do their part by avoiding going around groups of people before they go around other people because that's how it is spreading.. And the quicker everyone can just do their part, the quicker we can get back to normal.

But there are people like you who think their constitutional rights are being violated and that this is overhyped so you have to make a statement by living how you want.

There are times when there is an exception. This is one of those situations.

Guys, SCOTUS would uphold a conviction 9-0 here.

its fricking selfish and irresponsible. And of course he tries to make it about religion..like they're all going to be protected or some delusional shite. Then, Spread it back into communities, and make things take longer to get back.

This won't hold up. He has a constitutional right to assemble. This stuff is all bullshite.

Health crisis/pandemic = neutral law designed at addressing a compelling government interest. Free Exercise clause only protects you from a government law that is targeting religion. And never mind the fact churches have been getting it easy in not having to pay taxes.

Right to assemble is tied to free speech. And it does not exist independent of that.

Do you think my second amendment rights allow me to bring a gun in a federal building or to a school? There are limits to everything whether you agree with them or not.
