This biggest overreaction in the history of the planet. The decision to shutdown the global economy due to COVID-19 will rank among the Top 10 worst decisions of the last 500-1,000 years.

No, I wasnt. Simply because I knew it would lead to this

I didn't have a huge issue with the 15 days to figure out what we were dealing with. China didn't exactly help us out much to determine the seriousness of the virus.

Now it's over two months later and we've still got people bitching about others not walking around in masks and talking about whether we are going to having fall sports or school. This thing is still in the swine flu range as far as global deaths.

Is this going to happen every time we have some sort of outbreak now? Sadly, I think it might.

The good thing though is that we have the US’s top mathematicians, statisticians and epidemiologists publishing their professionally vetted research in the prestigious medical journal the O-T lounge. If only those clowns like Fauci would take advantage of this priceless resource!

This is where people decide to forget that the concern was about the spread and infection rate overwhelming hospitals and increasing the mortality rate beyond what it normally would be.

The virus hit its peak in mid-April. We're in late-May and states are still heavily restricted. The whole goal was to flatten the curve. The curve has been flattened for weeks now. The goal post has moved from flattening the curve to waiting for a vaccine/effective treatment. End the freaking charade and resume normal activities. This bug is just barely worse than the common flu.

Correct. The global human welfare crisis stemming from what looks to possibly be a self-imposed Great Depression 2.0 will far eclipse the death toll from COVID.

I know right? Fauci and friends wouldn’t last a day in the sweltering Louisiana heat in one of our plants or out in the oil field. What a bunch snowflakes!

Id argue that people don’t always do this. Often kids aren’t sent to school with mild fevers. People go to work with a cough. My point was with awareness people would have been more strict on that behavior which would have been sufficient.

I agree in principle, however I don't think Americans would have taken that advice at face value absent the rest of the stuff that has happened since then.

The weekend prior to restaurants closing - (weekend of March 14th/15th), this was the situation:

(1) It was known that NOLA was arising as a hot spot
(2) It was advised that if you're sick don't go out.

I remember being out and about doing my part to support the local economy through food and alcohol purchases that weekend, and I was seated next to at least 1 person who was visibly sick with a bad cough - but it was a kids birthday so she toughed it out.

Later that week, so after restaurants were shut down but before the stay at home order - my wife's work had to intervene during a meeting and send a guy home who was too sick to function, later to find out it was pneumonia (suspected COVID but not tested at the time).

Remember the Commander Data saga of what he went through to finally convince his employer not to send him to work with Covid?

Hopefully, coming out of this we'll be better as a whole about not 'expecting' people to tough out being sick at work and out in public, but that simply was not the case in March and a few Government PSA's wouldn't (and didn't) do anything to resolve that.

My work virtual meeting was pretty unanimous with the parents wanting to keep their kids home a few weeks longer. All professional degreed individuals.

I just keep my mouth shut besides confirming that my kid is in daycare. I'm long past being concerned and these fear mongering articles are terrible.

By “people”, you mean the Democratic Party and states with Democratic leadership? Correct?

Why do some people see everything as democrat or republican and blame everything on one party while thinking the other party does nothing wrong?

Without going into detail do some of you every question things? Why is it that the Republican states are opening up quicker than Democrat states? if I was president I would use this situation as away to win over a few states.

Behind closed doors I would tell everyone we still need to keep things closed for a little while longer. States ran by democrat governors then tell its people we need to keep things shut down a little bit longer while the people are seeing all the states with Republican governors opening shite back up. They are saying "wait. this dumbass we have as a governor is holding everyone back. These states ran by the republicans are opening back up.. We need to get rid of this jackass in office.

Trump is someone who was caught on tape saying "you can tell people anything and they will believe you". This was several years before he was president, but someone who has that train of thought, do you think everything he says is straight forward?

When you think about all of this shite or anything when it comes to one side saying this and the other side is saying that, always pay attention to when these things start. Stop thinking one party is "good" and the other party is "bad". They are all just as bad as each other.
