Flu has infected over 36 million to get that number and is winding down.

COV-19 has infected fewer than 20k in the US, even extrapolating out for the mild cases that never went to the doctor, and the number is growing fast.

Obviously solid comparison basis to ignore death rate and focus on absolute numbers.

Coronavirus has also infected more people than is officially recorded to get to the big number of 100 deaths.

But FLU infects way more people and kills way more people than Coronavirus.

FLU>>>>>>>Coronavirus

22,000 deaths is worst than 116 deaths but you still will have idiots who post here that refuse to admit that

FLU >>>>>>>> Coronavirus.

questions for you

1) how long did it take for 22k flu deaths?
2) how long has it been since the first covid-19 death?
3) what percent of people get hospitalized for the flu?
4) what percent of people get hospitalized for covid-19?
5) Why do you believe the CDC flu death numbers, but don't believe the CDC when they say covid-19 is worse than the flu?

Nope. With the panic that the media has caused more people with be out of a job or lose their business than dying from Covid-19.

No. It won't hit five figures for 2020.

Wait, so now we follow CDC, just not when they recommend steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus?

I’m sticking to my original prediction of less than 500.

And this is a big part of the problem. I hate to break it to you but it is out there and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it other than exercise reasonable precautions, get back to life and take the casualties.

The experts have acknowledged that it isn't about stopping it. The measures being taken are simply to slow it down so our healthcare system can manage. When the actual experts come out and say it is manageable, I'll believe them, not the random TD poster opinion.

I was just asking for peoples thoughts. Was in no way downplaying Covid 19. My wife is being treated for metastatic breast cancer with mets to the lungs as I type so I'm even more concerned than most about this f ing virus.

God Bless you Sport Wood. Prayers that everything goes well.

Oh, so you don’t even know where the cases in the US even at off the top of your head.

If you had, you would have known my number was very conservative and assumed that 75% of those infected never sought medical attention or were tested.

Amazing how sure you are that you have the viral behavior pegged then.

We aren’t doing nothing. What we are going is designed to lower the worse case number substantially. It may take longer than I’d like, but it’s all you css as b go really short of finding a cure or a vaccine.

And other scientists said Miami was supposed to be under water by now. Its what they do. They spend most of their life locked up in a lab, and when the camera hits them for the first time, they just cant seem to quit
