Bet the government didn't threaten folks or offer subsidies to sell Model Ts.
If it's a good idea, folks will buy. If it's a bad product then persuasion and arm twisting becomes necessary.

utility inflation.

In the United States any utility inflation is basically stealing. We literally burn off excess natural gas because we have too much of it.

Also, putting solar panels on your house in sunny California is A LOT different than putting them up in Delaware

I'm with you. But PUC's are a bitch.

Maybe, maybe not. You'd be surprised how easily solar still moneys out up there. I reviewed a solar fleet a few months ago that had thousands of customers up there doing great.

Just ask Germany, who for some reason thought solar was great for them even though they get less than 8 hours of sunlight during winter. Now since Norstream got cut they are back to using coal for power

residential and C&I solar is seeing a monstrous demand spike right now because of gas prices. And I'm not sure what you're getting at with 8 hours of sunlight. I'm more than happy to have the "how sun hours and PV work together" conversation.

If we reach anywhere near 100% fleet EV there really will no longer be off-peak hours.
And that will be a good thing. Ramping production up and down every day is costly. More level production is ideal.

No it's not.

Peak times are in the winter after the sun goes down for any electric grid.
Depends on the weather, but yeah typically consumption reaches its peak when people get home from work.

People charge their EV's after they get off work at night, so it would be at the same time.
No, people plug in their EVs when they get home from work, charging usually doesn't start until later. This is actually perfect because once backfeed chargers become more common people can use the energy stored in their EV to handle that peak load when they get home rather than pay potentially higher rates from the grid.

It's why solar power isn't a viable option.

Check it out
Enphase (ENPH) introduces bi-directional EV charging for an all-in-one solar home energy system
I have a beta of one of these i'm installing this weekend and going to take the PowerWalls offline and let my wifes car run everything and see how it works.

Well thankfully the people developing this technology have more than a 3rd grade education.

gas prices

Natural gas prices are at the lowest they have been in decades. Mostly because of shale and fracking. Anything beyond that is just wrong, or intentionally wrong to drive up prices. The latter is probably mostly likely. I'm talking about US only btw. Europe is a completely different story

Bro Henry Ford had tons of power and he absolutely twisted arms and steered government funds to building roads so he could sell more Model T's.

Everyone knew this was a possibility in places that depend heavily on fossil fuels for energy. Prices have always and will always be volatile. The solution is less dependence on fossil fuels.

EVs did not cause this problem, but they are a big part of the solution.

The infrastructure is not there to support EVs.

The horse. I think the first automobile had 3/4HP. Although I’m not sure if that’s SAE or not.

Honestly the media manipulation is truly disgusting. They don't care about objectivity, they want to shove you into little pods in the cities and control your consumption.
