Not sure if this helps but my wife and kids have a CavaPoo.

I feel like the majority of King Charles Spaniels I've run across are owned by rich old white ladies.

Great dogs. They don't have as long of a life expectancy as other breeds and they snore loud as shite but they are great. We had one for maybe 10 or 11 years. Still miss that guy

Cavs are great dogs. My little guy was always up for whatever I wanted to do. Lazy day on the couch, paddling down the river, hiking through the woods whatever. Small enough to carry on in the cabin of a plane, but with a big dog attitude.
They do NOT like to be left at home alone all day. But of someone works from home or you can send the pup to daycare a few times a week you should be ok.
While I would suggest that anyone buying any purebred dog research the breed and ensure they get one from parents who have had all the requisite health clearances, in CKCS it's especially important. Eventually all Cavs will get MVD, you just hope it lives to 10 or 12 and still heart clear (not 4 or 5.) Parents should also be checked for SM, an awfully painful brain/brainstem disease.

We got our springer from Brownwell kennels in AL. They also have cavs. We had a good experience and this dog has the best disposition.

My wife were considering a Cavalier King Charles until we met a mini golden doodle. When I did a side by side comparison we went with the golden doodle because the King Charles sheds a lot.

Love them. I have one now, had another who died a year ago. I've rescued 16. Great dogs. Like a small lab. Loyal as hell, don't yap, don't tear up stuff. They get really attached to the owner.
Mine turned 13 last month. Still going strong.

Get whatever dang dog you want. Even little fluffy gay dogs are cooler than a cat.
I rock a Lhasa Apso. I do have girls as an excuse though.....

They love pillows. I mean really love them. They think they r little people. They get their feelings hurt easily. Mine goes w me everywhere. He is trained on pads so I can leave him alone for a long time. They are also little breed snobs and actually recognize each other.
As for the heart, when it appears, get an echo done. Makes a big difference in treatment.

Believe all spaniels are awesome family dogs.
They are full of excitement, energy and always want to please. The dogs also show so much affection it feels like they are part of the family more so than any other dog. They rarely bark if at all and will sleep with you for 12hrs a day or go do outdoor stuff for 12hrs. It is up to you, they are always ready.
Springers, Cavs and Brittanys are all beautiful. They always get looks from ppl when taking them out.

Great dogs, we have had Cavs for over 15 years. Have 2 now. Great with kids, easily trained, love the outdoors as well due to the spaniel instinct. Always eager and willing to please. Very social and enjoy being around other dogs (they don't like to be left alone for long periods of time). Make sure and go with a reputable breeder to minimize any heart disease issues. Live 10-15 years.
And yes, they sleep alot and snore like an overweight 60 yr old truck driver.

I had two of them.
They have the sweetest temperament of any dog I’ve ever been around.
That said both died from heart failure.
Chronic defect that occurs in most of the dogs. Lucky for them to reach 10-12 years old.

A Jap vet perfected a way to fix the mitrovalve problem. Over 80% success rate. It's ten grand now and you have to fly over there to get it done but he is teaching others to do it. Price will come down when it makes it here.

We have one that just turned 8. He's a great companion. He is happiest snoring in your lap. We got tired of fighting the coat maintenance and now keep him clipped. Pretty much solved the shedding. They get so attached that they become your shadow. Funny little dogs.

Ours had a murmur detected at 5 years old. We started yearly visits to the cardiologist and he was put on medication at 10. At 13 still no heart failure, no hip issues and still acts like a puppy.

First off, never trust anyone who doesn't like dogs.
An ex had a Cavalier and he was the coolest, sweetest dog and was very affectionate. He went with me everywhere and I even got him out on the paddleboard. When the relationship ended the ex threw in my face that I would never see him again. I wasn't familiar with the breed until Louie but he was a damn good dog.
