He's a 17 year old fricking kid trying act cool in front of his peers. You admit he's never done shite like this before so you know it's more likely than not a one off attempt at being cool. Call his parents and demand he cut your lawn for 2 months or something. Jesus Christ when did td get this old and crotchety.

Sneak into his bedroom while he's sleeping with a cooking pot and 500 firecrackers and light them up. If he can play with fireworks with disregard to you and your family, then you can do the same.

Well I mean it seems like you were already intending to talk to his parents, so either go do it or let it go. If you have known the kid long enough and have a decent relationship with him I wouldn't do it, but next time you see it just make it clear that y'all have an understanding he owes you for being cool. I'm sure you can get him to do some favors for you like yard work in return.
