Yes, but the part of Cuba she will cross is a big mountain range that should?? calm her down considerably. The experts are estimating 80-90 mph winds at the most and that area is prepared to handle those speeds

A couple of things jump out in that clip - power poles still standing, road not washed out, trees still standing, and even some leaves still intact.

It will be a bit before we see stuff from the worst hit areas, but the extreme wind damage should be confined to a small area. Devastating flooding will be the primary issue..

Sure those homeowner rates are only going up 10% next year instead of 25% but the wind deductible is constant at $50,000 …

Anybody have a "Peak Wind Gust" recorded over Jamaica??

Had found Black River 84mph sustained / 115 MPH Wind GUST
Forecast had called for 130-145mph wind

I doubt we get many readings on land. They just don't have a network of anemometers with the spread like we have......and we even fail to record max gusts all that well.

Not to be that guy but are they in danger for real? We’re supposed to go to a CE conference there in December.

Looks like she reformed a larger eye after hitting water again. Recon reported 952 mb and 88 kts at flight level which is probably about 90 mph at surface. Terrain of Jamaica did a number on her but she's not dead yet.

Correct. The one bright spot is this is a very compact storm.

Cuba has higher mountains. Will shred it

Actually looks like its going to pass very near the highest peak in Cuba, 6000’ or so

That would completely shred the LLC

It is exhausting trying to figure out what images are real and which ones are AI.
