What's the issue? I'm not saying it's a literal EF4 tornado.
Im saying that's in the Fujita scale wind range of an EF4.
Obviously major variances between the 2.

He is making smart arse comments to anyone describing the severity of this storm. He probably lived through some bad ones and it’s like a kind of coping mechanism. I get it.

It’s just another trope you constantly hear about hurricanes comparing the winds to tornadic winds like okietiger said are not similar at all. Not frustrated with him. To me it’s just like something we do with the bingo card thing.
And it’s not even someone like okietiger saying it it’s that we have legit meteorologists that say the same thing

You think the storm will restrengthen once it leaves land?

I think one of the factors will be the temperature of the water, not sure about other factors.

It's heartening to know that communications are still up to some degree.

I wonder if the people from Mandeville, Jamaica are as snobby as the people from Mandeville, LA

The latest info from the experts is that Mandeville, Jamaica is suffering the most but not from Melissa's winds but rather from the mountain runoff which apparently has washed 100's of buildings, homes and cars into utter oblivion.
After seeing this vid I don't doubt it one bit.
Sadly, this was predicted due to the topography around the town but few evacuated

Yeah that looks no bueno. Their construction of everything but resorts is pretty below standard so not surprising that there will be a lot of devastation.
