I had that happen to me last year. I got an offer but they wanted me to start the following week, and I believe it was a Thursday / Friday when I was offered.

It's called dragging up

Lol at these companies sometimes... Four years ago, got out of grad school and struggled to get interviews /jobs that paid anything above 24k. Well, of all places, Boy Scouts of America corporate actually brought me in for an interview to basically oversee a region of the state. Job wasn’t all that, but not bad at all either.. I went to the interview and was told they would be in touch to let me know either way.

Two weeks later.. I received an EMAIL that they went with someone else, let’s remind you the HR lady was easily 50. Only place that didn’t have the courtesy to actually place a phone call and let me know that I didn’t get the position and were going the other way. Those people that bitch about others ghosting can Get lost.

Good way to burn bridges.

If you're smart you give ample notice and if you find yourself needing a job later you have a place where you're a known quantity and don't have to be trained.

I ghosted an interview once...mid-interview. (long story, sorry)

I had just moved to Nashville and was desperate for a job just to pay bills until I heard back from a couple of real "career" type leads. Needed a 6-month stop gap at age 22.

Anyways, I answered a Craigslist ad for a marketing startup company needing an account manager to manage client relations and communications. Something generic I thought that said they paid 35k a year

I get there and they immediately put me in a vehicle with a current employee. Some middle aged guy in a cheap suit. I don't talk to anyone but him and the secretary and have no idea what is in-store. They just said it was a "field interview".

We drive an hour outside of Nashville to the sticks and do door-to-door office supply cold calling sales. I'm talking about knocking on every single business in Bumfrick, TN and asking if they need paper or staplers.

This lasts the entire day. It's 90 degrees, I'm in a suit and tie, walking on the curbs between shitty strip malls for 8 hours. The guy I'm with has basically kidnapped me. He tells me all about his huge $2,000 bonus he got the previous year, etc.

Absolute nightmare complete with 2 meals at Burger King.

He was nice as hell though, so I went along with it. He was proud of his job so I didn't bash it or say negative things in front of him.

We get back to Nashville and they ask me to wait outside the CEO's office for minute until he is ready to give the final piece of the interview. The wall in front of where I was sitting had a picture of the CEO sitting on the hood of his Porsche underneath a row of clocks that were for every timezone on Earth. Like they were some huge global corporation.

I ask where the bathroom was, knowing it was outside this office space in the building's community hallway, then I get in the hallway and go straight to my car and never look back.

That ad was a straight up scam/lie.

I ended up getting essentially a software sales job for 4 months that paid my bills until my "Career" type gig paid off. I'm still at that company

and i think that survey is complete bullshite. most people dont give a frick about what their company takes a stand on. unless they take the stand on something stupid.....which is the sole reason smart companies dont take a stand on anything.

some girl just up and quit the low pay job I had right after college. Have zero notice and didn’t answer anyone’s calls



Pretty sure she was a crack head though so I guess she could have Over dosed. Who knows
