a study published Monday in the scientific journal Nature Climate Change
Or, might the only reason for publication be so the authors could coin the term...

These dumbasses can't seem to understand 1950's simple science of how the environment and eco system works together. Carbon = good. plants breath it in and create oxygen.
These jackasses have been brainwashed into slow suicide.

This stuff is such fricking bullshite. But here's all you need to know:
Food WASTE absolutely dwarfs anything like this. If people simply cooked only what they could eat, emissions would go down like 30%.

We own 100+ acres of woods. Each year we get lightning strikes that kill trees (big trees) and we take them for firewood and heat our house. Some time, some snot in a desk who only sees lightning strikes on the weather channel will figure out how much we have to pay to offset the Carbon that those trees aren't offsetting for the rest of their time rotting in place.
Have they worked up the numbers on termite contributions to global warming?

In the same ranting, the same liberal will go on to tell you how bad it was that the white man slaughtered the herds of millions and millions of bison
Forgetting that they also consumed grass and farted

Sounds like i need to start eating more beef

I sure hope enough liberal loons give up beef to drive the costs down... but the ones crazy enough to buy into this probably already gave up beef to reduce their contribution to cow farts.

What’s the carbon footprint of corn and wheat in an industrial scale?

Emissions from meat consumption in the U.S. can be reduced by up to 51% through measures such as reducing food waste and shifting diets from beef to poultry, the researchers suggested.
