As an upper management member of a pretty nice dealership, I say forward that text to the sales manager and/or GM or go up there. If they squabble over 250 bucks in the deal, they need to be reamed out on social media

Im also a manager at an auto dealership. Seeing that it was a lease the dealership should be making something on the deal. $253 is nothing in the big picture.
If you haven't recieved your manufacturer survey/review you have all of the power. These surveys mean everything to the dealership. We've paid way more than $253 to customers in order to get a good review/survey from customers. Tell them you are going to give a bad survey and you will get your check

I'd probably pay it to avoid collections then fight dealership. I wouldn't put much effort into $250 though, just let them know I won't be doing business there anymore.

This. I would start emailing whoever the parent company is and all higher ups. Put them on blast on social media, Facebook, Twitter, hell Instagram if they have one. Someone will contact you if you start shite on social media. Good luck.

Check your lease for a clause that states something to the effect that the terms of the written lease were the entire agreement and no other representations were a part of the agreement.

Actual text:

We can do the 242 that JP said and we will absorb your last payment on our last 2017 in stock.

242+nothing down+absorb last payment? The white one in stock?

Yes sir!

He didn't say he would pay it. He said they would absorb it. Did it occur to you that they lowered the price by the amount of your last payment? That is what I read absorb to mean. He reduced the value of the car you are leasing by that amount likely. You then are supposed to take your "savings" and pay the last note. If he didn't mean to, that's what he'll say now.

Or, it COULD mean the dealership absorbed the payment into the new lease deal.

Your version of absorb doesn't really seem like they are absorbing anything.

This is what absorbing final lease payments means. The dealership actually takes care of the remaining balance on the existing lease. Sometimes the customer get a bill before the paperwork and lease end balance is processed, but this doesn't sound like the case.

At the end of the day, if this was in your agreement with the salesman, you should have made finance aware of it and gotten some documentation, even if in pen on the payment worksheet or invoice, before leaving that office.

But if you came back in, I wouldn't hesitate to fix the problem. But I would also ask you to give us a good google review or share us on your FB. Politely of course.

Unfortunately, threaten to call them out on social media. It crushes businesses these days, whether they are right or wrong.

A) did you get it in official writing? If not, pay the $253

B) Email the dealership owner and post hate mail on Facebook. They do not want the publicity.

He's saying they knocked off a total of $253 in the new car. so they basically gave him $253.

The only legally ethical and mature way to handle this, as a way to ensure that your best interest is paramount.... would be to post the Salesman's name and his contact number in this thread.

Pfft... OT ballers don't pay cash for shite. They qualify for zero interest loans and use other people's money, baw.
