Made the mistake of driving and parking in Midtown Atlanta at a bar called Park Tavern for the game.

My friends used to do a field day behind Park Tavern. I parked my brand new car on Tenth near Monroe in broad daylight on a Saturday, and we were all within eye/earshot of it all day, and some fricker broke the window and didn't even take anything. That was 12 years ago. Still have the car and the replaced window still has a slight squeak. I get pissed all over again every time I roll it down.

Saturday night 3 POS tried to steal some things from my neighbor down the street. Now our street is a dead end, one way in, one way out. Neighbor chased them down with a gun. He also had call another neighbor up the street which the fellow blocked the road. They caught the POS and held them till the cops came. Two 15 year olds and a 18 year old.

Reminds me of going to Nicks back in the day. You paid the locals to let you park in their yard and they provided protection for your car. Of course, these were the very same people burglarizing the rest of the cars on the street. And we all knew it.

You deserve it because you are white.

Should have had valuables in there so the criminal could get reparations

I think it was 2003 that we went to a concert in Atlanta and parked in a lot that was under some overpass. We got there early and it was daylight and the lot was full. The attendants looked more like a gang, but we were young and left the truck anyway. I told the guy who got us parked to make sure nothing happens to it.
After the concert, we made our way back to the lot and it was completely empty except for our truck. We parked out of the line of site from the main road, so we couldn't see it and thought it was gone.
The guy I talked to was still there and watching our truck, but he had put 20 orange cones around it and in the bed of it. He was sitting in the bed and just lit up when he saw us.
It took 20 bucks to get him to move the cones, but at least the truck was fine.

Well hopefully he gets pulled over by a white cop and he reaches for the seat belt.

Park tavern is kinda sweet

Don't think it's much of a "gay" bar.Honestly the place is kinda a shitty...food and service are bad and the place should be a gold mine. One of the best locations in the city and loads of foot traffic along with car traffic.

The place isn't even open in the afternoon during the week with loads of folks in the park.

I think the city has something to do with running the place because the mgt obviously has no idea what they're doing.

This is why I don’t lock my car. Go ahead, snoop around, there’s maybe a couple bucks of loose change in there - just close the door and move along.

don’t even know if it’s worth filing a police report. I guess I’ll just file a claim with my provider and see what happens.
insofar as anything happening to catch the a-hole?

no value at all

but you may need one for your insurance if you plan to file a claim

unfortunately, you may be better off coming out of pocket, as claims can make your rates go up

Yea, I kinda agree. For where it’s located, it’s really disappointing. However I think it’s main function is as an event venue. People are always renting it out for stuff. Almost every time I think about going over there it’s either closed for or about to be closed for a private event. Their beer and food is ok.

But on topic, if this dude parked along 10th street (which means he didn’t actually park at park tavern), kinda surprised this happened. High Ped traffic area, but I guess since it was raining less so than usual? Idk not the spot I’d expect someone to bust a window.

Yes,I get that and I've been to concerts and a wedding there (still horrible service with getting drinks and crowd control) I just don't think they GAS about daily operations.

The OP said it was in the parking lot which I'm somewhat familiar with.Ive parked there before and never had an issue although it was on a weekend and it's a auto pay lot and I'm pretty sure it was manned so it probably wasn't during a Monday nt. I also don't recall seeing any "junkies" hanging out there. Its a relatively small and I would much rather park there than on 10th Street.

I know there's seems to be an uptick in crime around the area...not sure if the beltline has anything to do with it or not.
