Prices will come down once people stop buying and paying the ridiculous prices.

It will eventually swing back the other way and they will be begging to sell cars. It always does.

So do Service Advisors and even the guy over Parts. Both can easily eclipse 100k a year. But they also have to deal with a lot of unhappy customers.

I tried service advisor and also in the parts department at a dealership. My conscience would not allow me to continue doing the job. I found something else. You have to take advantage of people in a dishonest way to make a living at it. Not for me.

the way to frick car dealership income:
buy the car outright after negotiating the price down
don't buy any extended warranties
don't buy any of the "extras" (vin etching, wheel locks, etc)
don't use the dealership for repairs or maintenance

it? It’s like car salesmen want to live that 6 figure lifestyle now, when they rarely did before that.
Wait you think the salesman set the prices? LOL. How naive.
They get a bad rap for a reason, but in truth, they’re just following marching orders from the dealership owner and/or general manager.

You can negotiate about 5 free oil changes if you hold to your guns. They will do it.

What do they make when you pay cash?

Yeah, it's not a job that I could do either. The same goes for sales.

If the average car salesmen gets 25% commission (just googled average commission) on a 50k truck. That’s 12.5k. That means if they sell 5 trucks a month they are making more than some CRNA’s or engineers. Insane…
I need to start selling cars...

You’re meant to be a worker bee, avoid finance and P&L at all costs.

I’m pretty confused on the whole taking advantage of people by selling parts part.

I sold cars part time when I was in school to earn some beer money. On no planet does a car salesman get 25pct.
THE FREAKING DEALER DOES NOT GET 25PCT.
New cars are sold darn close to a loss to get service business as a factory-sanctioned Chevy/Ford/Chrysler repair center.
At the used car place I worked at we got like $150/car flat fee.

I’m about to literally do the same. Are the pretty easy at Stellantis dealers now? Don’t feel like playing games
