Capitalism has corrupted the spirit of Christmas

As I look at all this cheaply made stuff that my kids and their cousins won’t remember they got in 2 weeks as they ask for new gifts I remember the story of the little drummer boy. He had no gifts but he came to see the baby Jesus anyway. Thats the truest essence of Christmas. Not a new Nintendo switch.

Well, your arse can just not accept the gifts and you can be the a-hole that doesn’t get anybody any gifts for Christmas.

Without Capitalism we wouldn't know which nouns were proper and would only have the period to tell us when a sentence began and ended. Capitalism WORKS.

Look, it sounded great in your head, but, how could you think that it would ever work?
What made you think that your wife and kids would accept, "Capitalism has corrupted the Spirit of Christmas" as a good excuse for not buying them any presents this year?
A bold strategy that didn't work out, Cotton.
You have their birthdays to make up for it before next Christmas.

I made my kids make their own gifts this year. They weren't happy with the results but teaching them how to weld this early is a gift within itself

Capitalism has helped me move from being a poor white child to middle class on the verge of upper middle class. Try doing that under a communist regime without having to kill people.

Meh...
Christmas, like most everything else, is what you make of it. If YOU make it cheap and capitalistic, then that's on you...
Merry Christmas!

No way they’ll forget about a Nintendo switch in 2 weeks

Not "Capitalism" you moron. The term you were looking for was Materialism.

It's all the same, you're just on the other side of the "magic"'at your age. Your parents could have said the same thing as could their parents.
