Cost is a huge factor
There are some drugs costing in excess of $1mil a year! I understand supply and demand and can’t quite wrap my head around the fact that the demand side of the equation is tied to a person dying a slow, painful death…

You do what you can do but the cost for many of these trials and treatments is astronomical and beyond the reach of many.
If you’re in a clinical trial you don’t have to pay for the treatment. Partly because half of those in the trial are not getting the drug being studied.

No 60 clinical trials for the jab though wonder why that is

Where does science come from? People. Where do People come from?
Science and prayer are 2 totally different things that are not comparable. I know you dont believe in God but God brought us the ability to create science and further it. God gave us this capability. So pray to God telling him thank you.

then if God did that, then why did he create it in the 1st place? if he has a divine plan, then clearly his plan is to royally frick people over.

Maybe its a product of the devil and God is giving man the tools to cure it.

The treatment is lucrative, and just about everything consumable or widely circulated today contains carcinogens. The companies making unfathomable amounts of money would do anything they could to prevent it from being cured.
There will always be some new malady with high mortality that will be lucrative to treat. People are going to get sick and die of something and will pay to delay whatever that something is.

My insurance claim total for Stage 4 bladder cancer was $1.4 million in 2025 and just over $900k YTD. The treatment was approved in the spring of 2024 and is a combination of a monoclonal antibody targeted chemo drug in conjunction with an immunotherapy drug. The chemo is like a smart bomb - attaches to a protein in the cancer cell before delivering its “payload” directly into the cell vs systemic chemo that damages healthy cells… less side effects. Once the cancer cell is lysed, the breakpoint immunotherapy drug causes my immune system to recognize the remnants as foreign. It’s all pretty fascinating. The drugs are manufactured by two different companies and the trial was a partnership between them. It’s been extremely effective so far with 17 3-week cycles down, not sure how many to go but I’ll keep showing up until they tell me stop!

My 35 year old wife has brain cancer. These studies are awesome if for nothing else - just hope. Though this may not be relevant to us, it’s still encouraging to see progress regardless of type.
Cancer is a very broad term. They all have very different mechanisms. There is no broad based cure for cancer it appears but more research is being done at the molecular level which is making patient care more personalized…. Which kicks arse.

Decimated by science Decimated by prayer
10. 10. Sin

that is an interesting way to spin your argument. but then again, objectivity in religion is not something most fundies want to admit to.

Since Ive seen some copperheads this spring, their venom can stop tumors and cancer spreading in mice. Haven't figured it out for humans.

Sorry to hear bro.
But if they can get these proteins figured out it can stop the spread of brain tumors.

Since cancer has taken my family members and recently my dog. God can frick right off with that. Gives us cancer and tells us to figure it out with science.
What a piece of shite.

Prayers for you and yours. I've lost family to cancer as well as so many other people have. Unfortunately God is a selfish God. The trials and tribulations of life are just a test. He wants as many souls as he can get and sadly doesnt care how he gets them. Life is just a piece of it all for the real journey. He took my father early and took 1 one of my dogs too. God's speed brother.

George, I'm extremely saddened to hear this.
My heart breaks for you.
I know, right now, you likely have a "love hate" relationship with Google, regarding research information.
Previous Mrs.Cars had brain cancer, but was cured. She passed many years later of MBC, not related to her earlier cancer.
I wish you a great outcome, and I will pray for her.
