Pretty much uniform in the northeast. It’s all I see when I want to feel grounded, and take the subway with the common folk.

The store in Chicago always has a line out the door. Clientele is 90% Asian.

Not saying that’s good or bad, just an observation.

Geezus a mens parka is $1,600.

Kinda like Burberry for cold rich people.

I think it became a thing in Chicago about 5 years ago. A casual estimate is 1 of 10 locals walking Michigan Ave is wearing CG. Exclude the beggars and it’s 1 of 3.

Very popular in downtown Chicago. They’re high quality and very warm, but even with the brutal winters here there’s only a handful of days that warrant a full parka to me.

I got a Fjallraven parka a few years ago with basically the same specs, except not a real wolf fur ruff, for maybe half the cost. More than enough warmth for the few times it’s needed.

Aren't these the woke jackets that use to have the fur collars but caved to PETA?

When I was in college in the late 90s the winter status symbol was a North Face jacket. But these guys just decided to make a winter coat and price it a couple times what those North Face used to cost. Genius.

You're welcome to meet me down at the riverbank to settle this. You'd better wear your work boots and pack a lunch though because you're in for a long fricking day.
