am by no means poor, but $1,875 for a jacket? Are these people insane?

If keeping warm is key, go to an Army/Navy Surplus and get an old school wool Navy Peacoat.

If you want it to be a "look at me" status symbol than go with something $1k+.

To each their own but it's as simple as that.

Was all the rage in 2018 by all the mid women in Chicago.

They are warm though.

Nothing to do with being rich or poor, but realistic regarding the situation being discussed.

It's like wearing $300 boots out on the ranch vs wearing $1k+ Luccheses out on the dance floor.

That’s too much to spend, but they are well made and warm jackets. Their classic parka is genuinely designed for Arctic work. The average person will never wear theirs out.

Canada Goose Jackets

I saw the thread title and thought, "this needs to be an AI Generator thread". I was picturing a Canadian Goose wearing a jacket...or a jacket with multiple pictures of Canadian Geese on it. I guess that AI is becoming too prevalent these days.

My guy. This is Baton Rouge. Do you really need a coat that someone can use in Canada?

You realize a sizable chunk of LSU students move out of state after graduation? I know more former students who live outside of Louisiana than I do who who live there.

You can look through the comments and tell. They out themselves because they can’t help it. They lash out and get triggered by this sort of stuff.

If you didn’t see snow by Halloween you don’t need a down jacket

I have two; one a vest and one jacket. I travel to MKe a lot so they get used often. Lightweight but does keep you warm. They are pricey however.

You and the other guy must be the "OT-rich" types I've read about, with the "OT-10s" hanging on your arms. Man if only I could be so lucky.

I really don’t try to push my wealth on other users. I don’t try and defend my wealth here either. It’s not a competition. This site has baws that have money and baws that hate people who have money. The baws that clearly evaluated the jackets for their use are way different than the baws who lashed out and called it pretentious. The OT is all about jealousy. I appreciate the baws that gave sincere reviews.

If you were actually trying to survive 30 below zero, I'd say LL Bean down coats are the best. I lived in NE and survived the worst weather in one that went down to the tops of my shoes. No one around me gave a flying shite about the brand of my coat when we were all trying to go about our daily lives without freezing to death.

It sounds like you are just trying to flex, so it's on you to figure out what the latest instatrash/ tiktok trends are.

If you are actually trying to survive in -30 degree temps (I have spent weeks in sub zero temps with nothing but a tent to "warm" up in) you want one of the various 8000 meter suits. The North Face, Marmot, Rab, Mountain Hardware, Himali, Kailas, and etc and you don't want to skimp on the cost, but that isn't what this thread is about.

There is a reason all these folks look like they shopped at the same store.

If that's your daily life, more power to you bro. I was talking about daily living in the NE.

Edit: When taking care of the horses in 30 below zero weather, I wore Carhartt coveralls. I wasn't trying to look pretty for a mountain top picture. I was taking care of animals that didn't give a shite what a looked like that relied on me for food and water, and I wanted to get to and from the back 40 to my house alive.
