No he didn’t dude. They had kids that played in college at every position. He did not play meaningful innings, ever.

The Clean isn’t that complicated. I don’t believe that they aren’t doing them.
yes it is for many and in a team setting there are much more effecient ways of getting power development.
quote:
Any athlete doing explosive movements are doing them in some form. Whether it’s a power clean or just a heavy pull.
and none of that is needed if you have med balls and or sandbags to throw. bill miller, gerry deflippo, defranco, jim smitty diesel, driveline, dr heenan, westside barbell have all written exclusively about this. so have many other coaches.
cleans are great but absolutly not the right choice for most. especially those without the neccessary shoulder mobility or without the wrist strength to do them. this is especially true in overhead athletes.
thinking you must do cleans is an outdated practice, especially with the emergence of VBt.

No. I think I can manage half my weight. I have a bum left shoulder.

He looked like a strong arse db at 6’1 180
you know who was a strong arse DB?
Laron Landry
6'0" 215 at the combine.
Patrick Peterson
6'0" 219 at the combine
Mo Claiborne
5'11" 188 at the combine
noticeable difference from Peterson and Laron in upper body and especially legs.
quote:
Cornerback Morris Claiborne didn't impress everyone. Bleacher Report's NFL Draft Lead Writer Matt Miller tweeted out that one scout told him Claiborne looked "sluggish and thin."
side note, Claiborne chose not to attempt the 225 reps at the combine.
Peterson did 15
Laron didn't attempt any, but i'll go out on a limb and say he could have done quite a few.
Honeybader did 4 reps at 225
Tre White did 16
Tyrann Matheiu
5'9" 186
Tre White
5'11" 192
Craig Steltz
6'1" 215
did 10 reps with 225
no dreamy pictures of him from combine or pro day.

Ehh, I'll disagree and I do all three. There's overload that is really hard to create with med balls or sandbags due to size.

That's an excuse. These people should he getting more mobile, not excluding cleans due to mobility.

Not quite. I sometimes do 4 or 5 reps with 80 pound dumbells, and I weigh 175. But I rarely bench with a barbell. I could get there in about three weeks, though.

If you can do 80lb dbs for 5, you can bench 175 for one

You'd think, but going above 80 pounds is a balancing challenge for me. I feel like I might drop one on my head!

I could when I was a young man. 56 now with a few health problems. Man getting old sucks. I’m telling you young baws now it’s coming for you. Father Time is undefeated

I would bet the average bench max for an American male is 150 lbs
i would say even less than this. More like 120
actually probably way less. I saw dudes struggling with 40lb dumbbells at the LSU gym last week

Oh I’m forgetting someone too. We had a little Canadian that could really blow mingos mind
I can’t remember his exact numbers but he would really make y’all call me a liar
This is his brother
We had some genetic freaks on those teams and they lived at the rec in their free time

Yes, but I only weigh 185. I could bench that with one arm
