If you share maids with friends and relatives, don’t think they don’t talk.

I did this the other day when we were leaving our house for a tenant to move back in. I figured if i did what i could then the housekeeper could do an even better deep clean. I gave her those specific instructions.

But yeah for regular cleanings it's probably just OCD.

I guess it also just depends on the situation.

I know a couple of guys that are single and they each live in bachelor apartments that look like a bomb exploded in them, mess wise. They specifically have housekeepers come and pick up all their laundry off the floor, clean their sheets, do their sink stacked with dishes, etc. I don't think they care at all about the meticulous deep cleaning stuff like dusting.

If your place is messy all the time, dust is probably the least of your worries You're just paying someone to keep it halfway livable at that point. LOL.

Some people are obsessed with what other people think. When my wife (at the time) and I moved out of the apartment and into a house, we had to pay a $75 cleaning fee. She still insisted on fully cleaning the empty apartment, because she didn't want whoever was cleaning it to think badly about her. Ridiculous.

It’s because your maid is named Jody and your wife doesn’t want him wasting his time cleaning up your shite.

I said so you want me to wash the car and then go take it to Benny’s also? Because that’s the exact same shite.

if you were paying someone to clean you car and they only had 1 hour to do it would you clean out all of the shite in the car first so they could vacuum it out without having to think about it or would you leave it cluttered so they had to spend some of that hour figuring out what was trash and what wasn’t? Because if it’s the latter your car won’t be as clean.

My mother always did that so I swore to myself if I ever had a housekeeper, I wouldn't. And I don't. She comes every other week so I do sweep, vacuum, dust a few things the week before. But there's no mad dash the night before she comes. No way.

She’s trying to make sure you pick up all your cookies before Diabeto gets them.

I used to complain about this until I was blue in the face. I’ve learned to pick my battles and this is not one I’m winning. Women make no sense.

My wife will do a deep clean for the exterminator… the exterminator

Same here. 11 years married and I just let her be. Since we are back in Brazil and it's so cheap we have a woman that comes 3 days a week and stays about 8 hours. She does a really good job but still on Sunday my wife is cleaning and vacuuming the house. Women are crazy.

Not paying her to do the easy shite and then not get to the stuff you really want her to clean. It's science.

Blows my mind people don't get this. Do you want the maid cleaning up your mess from breakfast, or do you want her cleaning baseboards, scrubbing toilets, cleaning windows/blinds, mopping floors, etc. I know what I'd rather my maid be cleaning.

She doesn’t want to do the hard shite but she would feel embarrassed if the house was really dirty

our cleaning lady is like family, she will do anything and everything, and takes as long as it takes, to make sure the house is sparkling and spotless, as a courtesy I'll do an advance sweep of light things, make sure the dishes ae done, laundry, etc., sometimes I don't have time and she does it, but again, it's just to make her job easier, she brings us tamales and other homemade Mexican treats all of the time, if she's heard of a death in the family she brings fresh cut flowers, and we do things for her and her family, we've turned some friends onto her for their houses but her first priority is us
