Eating at home all the time and trying to get 10-14 days of groceries so I don’t have to go back.

I haven't seen a can of lysol, hand sanitizer, hydrogen peroxide or bottle of rubbing alcohol in 2 months

Kids are also out of school. My wife takes care of my two grandkids and them along with their neighborhood friends raiding my pantry everyday, I can't keep up with grocery orders.

More people are eating at home, so the demand for food provided by restaurants has transferred to the grocery stores.
I can’t explain the toilet paper. Makes no fricking sense.

This has been explained a million times. It’s because Americans are using way more groceries than before. They are eating 3 meals a day at home. Every shite is at home. There are three distinct supply chains. One supplies office buildings and hotels, a second supplies restaurants, and a third supplies homes. The first two are almost completely idle, while the third is groaning under the weight of what used to be supported by all three.

Because my kids never stop fricking eating
Grocery bill is more than doubled, right now. All meals at home.

People are buying more because they aren’t eating out as much and they are buying more at a time, however still need to go out often for staple items. Supplies of certain products have also been diminished.
While we aren’t supposed to be going out as much, the grocery is one of the few places we are allowed to go.
Plus I’ve gone to the store probably once a week and it has been pretty dead in there compared to 2-3 weeks ago.
In conclusion not sure what you are confused about.

The mass hysteria grocery shopping should have ended already and everyone returning back to a normal shopping schedule. Why is there still lines at places and items out of stock?
Obviously people have to buy more food right now. Because they aren't eating out, their kids aren't eating at school, they're bored so they're eating more often and they dont want to leave the house so their making much less frequent grocery trips

This isn’t really a rush on groceries. It’s actually just normal life returning to this country where people cook and eat at home. The missing items in grocery stores is simply a result of the grocery stores being unprepared for such a quick return to normal life.

The people that don't cook at home a lot are buying a bunch of groceries instead of eating out. Then low stock items are also rationed from the suppliers, so they can't get enough stock to get ahead of the shortage.

Your fuel bill is lower though, don't have to drive Caden and Aiden to travel ball every day.

Because hurricane season will be here as soon as it's over and people will hoard again.

Because people are dumbasses. Somebody starts stupid rumors on FB and they all fall hook, line, and sinker.
My SIL called my wife last Thursday and told her that she "heard" that their was going to be a mass food shortage in the US. I reminded my wife that the week before she "knew" somebody who's son was in the National Guard and they were getting activated to make sure we all stayed in our houses.
People are dumbasses.

One reason could be how many restaurants are closed...people are cooking more meals at home.
My question is, why are they rationing Milk? There is a huge surplus of milk (especially with schools closed). There are plenty of things that may be in short supply...milk is not one of them.
