Idk who owns it but Felix's was used by Marcello as a gambling front. They say Lee Harvey Oswald worked out of Felix's when he was reportedly working for Marcello

Was Marcelo his own family? Was he an underboss to a bigger name? Or was NOLA like saint Louis or Vegas or Chicago and was it’s own thing entirely?

Did nut realize Rizzuto had that building. I know he went in and bought the old Tony Angello's in Lakeview earlier this year and turned it into a steakhouse?
This much I know to be true about Felix in NOLA was that Mr Sam ( Saia) used to run the bookmaking operations for Marcello out of Felix

You want to talk about a mafia or "family" you cannot be a River Pilot unless you are born into a River Boat Pilot family like being a River Boat Pilot's son, it's that tight

Shocking to hear that high earners would live near each other

Yeah I know some stories.

Most mafia leaders cared about their communities. They protected their neighborhoods.
Criminals like Gotti jr are mildly amused by clowns who ignorantly romanticize the " street life" they lived.
Amazing how watching movies have caused some to buy into myths about criminals.

Looks like it's this guy who is President of Felix's according to SOS until 2012. Can't Find Felix's Restaurant Group in SOS
Officer: JOHN ROTONTI
Title: President
Address 1: 1776 STATE STREET
CSZ: NEW ORLEANS, LA 70118

My Dad went to high school with Joe and remained friends until my father's death about 18 years ago. Very nice guy would see him about 1-2 times a year. I don't recall him being caught up in all of the mob stuff, but my Dad never asked and always said he did not want to know ....anyway.

Pretty sure that I'm 100% correct on the fact the Joe Marcello is Carlos son and at least up until recently(not sure) was the owner of Felix at Iberville and Bourbon either Joe Carlos son or Joe Carlos brother ....thinking they were partners
I'll settle this for you two.
Found this article.
Advocate Article.
quote:
“It’s a dream come true,” said Danny Conwill, owner of Felix’s Restaurant Group. “It gives us a presence on Bourbon Street and it more than doubles our capacity. There's so much more we can do here now." At the same time, Felix’s Restaurant Group has taken over Amici Ristorante & Bar, another Italian restaurant at 3218 Magazine St.
Found it. If you do subsequent search on Doc investments you'll find Danny Conwill is agent for DOC Investments.
Looks Like John Rotonti used to own it. see some ties to Schwegmans and Morells but no Marcellos.

I feel like one of the things that the Sopranos nailed is that you could easily know connected guys and think they were nice enough folks. Maybe you suspect they’re into something. But you will never know. Until you start affecting their money in some way. Making them money or costing them money. Then you’re playing their game by their rules and it can be a dangerous game.

He had his own family. He had as much power as any of the other big families.
Vegas was not its own thing. Chicago controlled Vegas along with Kansas City

I want to start my own mob. Let’s do this. We will call ourselves Highland Huevos.
