College of Charleston is on line 1.

I thought this thread was about Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection.

I worked in the office that was directly across the street from the SCAD dorms (where they used to be, right by the Civic Center) for 10 years. Move in day drew a lot of attention from folks, and not to try to catch a glimpse of the hotties that might be moving in. Hair every color of the rainbow, lots of piercings, etc. As others have said, it is crazy liberal but it is a pretty prestigious place.

I've spent several years in advertising and marketing. I've also had a lot of experience with folks that went to SCAD, but usually on the creative side of the business. A lot of folks in design go there for their graduate degrees because they offer a distance program.
If it matters to you, it is indeed a very liberal school and program. But politics aside I'll give my 2 cents. If she was interested in fashion merchandising, graphic or UX design, brand development; it can be a good school, but very expensive as far as ROI is concerned.
If she is looking for a more traditional marketing degree and wants to stay in the southeast, I would recommend one of the state universities that have a long track record in the field. UNC, UGA, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech have top-tier marketing programs. Those schools would probably return more ROI for your dollar as well.
My general feeling with a program as general as marketing, is that you go to a larger university because you have more options available to you if you end up changing majors, which is common with students in marketing and they have a much stronger network established than a smaller private school like SCAD.

Not a place to go to for marketing. It’s a good school for art and design as the name implies, but you can get a better marketing education for far cheaper at any number of places.
If you want to learn how to learn how to make a tv show SCAD is the right place for you.
And it is pretty liberal. Lots of people listing pronouns and such.

A wholesome friend of mine who was a very good artist went there out of HS. She left after a year and came back to UGA, graduating with an art degree from Georgia instead.
She loved Savannah, but it was expensive and counterculture and just not worth it from any angle.

There is also a campus in Atlanta

They used to host a pretty bad-arse rugby tournament around St. Patty’s day.
I was in Savannah for the first time in about 15 years back in 2024. Some of the shine had come off the city IMO.

Friend of mine's daughter went there in the early 2000's. Graduated but never used her degree. Good school for that discipline of study but VERY expensive.

I live in the area. It's full of fricking retarded liberals. If she isn't one, she will be, otherwise they will retaliate.

some of the most pretentious, self-important, snobby college students you'll ever come across, and, as others have mentioned, they're all flaming libs.
Savannah is a great town though

Is she pretty?
There's no difference in marketing girls at all aside from their looks.

Take her by the college of Charleston for a similar city vibe with less blue hairs (unless we're talking about little old ladies in downtown Charleston.....)

seems like if you want to major in marketing the best route would be community college then in state school. Unless you have a scholarship, of course.

Tell her to save the $ and visit or even live in Savannah later. Pick a school for reasons other than the town.

Don't think SCAD is worth it if this is what she wants to get into.
