The best non-executive chairs on the market are made by Body Bilt. They’re made to order. Usually 1200-1500. Negotiated one as part of my offer at a previous job. Found one laying around at my current job. Some fatso left so I was able to commandeer it.

Makes a huge difference if you’re sitting down all day.

Herman Miller Aeron just under $500

These are my favourite chairs. If I ever sit enough at work to justify buying a chair, it'll be one of these.

Answer is a herman miller aeron or a Steelcase leap. If you want to spend more stick with one of these two brands.

Currently using a knoll remix task chair, and i like it. Before that steelcase think chair was also legit.

Herman Miller Embody. Lots of custom settings and great for people with back pain.

I've been looking for a desk chair recently and it seems anyone who sits multiple hours a day recommends the Herman Miller Aeron. Everyone's saying it can't be beaten

The $1500 chairs often have worse reviews than $100 chairs.

Law of diminishing returns. A chair can only be so comfortable, so higher chance you’re disappointed if you paid 1500

For the more expensive chairs you are not necessarily paying for the comfort. While you may have more ergonomic adjustments on the higher end ($500 probably gets you all of the adjustability you need) you’re paying for the quality and warranty. Those more expensive chairs will last 20 years of abuse in an office setting and usually come with a 5 year or more warranty. The cheaper chairs are ready to be thrown out and replaced after 12 months of daily use and the warranty is likely not longer than that.

What is so great about the Herman Miller Aeron? It doesn’t look that comfortable to me. Honestly asking. It does always get rave reviews but I’m not sure half of them are not just from the name and recognition.

Pewdiepie Edition chair from Clutch is legit. Only $400.

I am in IT and sit all day for work, it's lit.

Eames look great in the conference room but if you sit more than an hour at a time you will love the Clutch Throttle chair. Super adjustable, great lumbar support.

Herman-Miller Embody

I never thought I'd spend $1k on a chair but I figured if I work from home and I'm going to spend a decent amount of time in it, I may as well take care of my spine. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Best warranty you'll find and I can spend all day in it no problem. I've had it for a few years now and I've been pleased. Steelcase also has some good options, but they were more expensive than HM across the board when I was looking and their warranty wasn't as good.
