That situation is really sad.

I saw an interview of that girl, who is a rn, who saved 3 patients who were in the hospital, 2 were in critical condition.. She couldn't get in contact with her dad, she went to his place and everything... A truck, just stuff that people have outside their homes.. Everything just burnt up. It really looked like a scene you would create to represent hell.

Zoom in on Paradise, Ca. on Goole Earth. o to street view. That place was nothing but pine trees and brush. You talk about a place ready to burn. It would seem they would at least clean you the brush that was all over town.

Amazing how people create devastation by trying to prevent devastation.

The road to hell I guess...

There are some real somber photos of the town.

My sister lives in Lafayette, CA, which is over 100 miles from Paradise. They had to cancel school today because the smoke was so bad. She said it's unbelievable how bad the whole situation is.

No, I think the death toll was at 66 the last I heard.

There were ~100 people missing yesterday. That figure jumped to 600 this morning. I guess now somebody is reporting 1,000 missing.

There's no doubt that there is some duplication involved. Two or three people reporting the same relative missing to different agencies might end up being counted two or three times in the total. It's seems like it's fairly chaotic right now. People are living in tents in parking lots to or have gone wherever to stay with friends. I doubt the authorities have an actual handle on who's dead, who's truly missing, and who is just temporarily unaccounted for.

I don't think there will be anywhere near as many deaths, but a shitload of people are displaced.

This type of shite is what happens in the aftermath of major natural disaster. A couple of months ago there were 300 or 400 missing from one small area east of Panama City Beach. They eventually found most of them alive. It's not Communism, it's chaotic mass confusion and a million moving parts.

If you've ever been in the immediate aftermath of a major hurricane, tornado, wildfire, earthquake, wildfire, etc., you'll never forget it.

Not that people such as yourself are even worth a response, but that area is likely one of most conservative parts of the state. If you've been there (I have), it's largely a farming community .
