Place is a natural border wall. Sounds like unnecessary spending

Build a 6-month wall then.

The billion dollars Texas spent on healthcare for illegals in 11 months alone is unnecessary spending.

Landmines and alligators.

the cult

This just makes me laugh knowing what you fricks actually believe, especially since it's the cult of marxism that made a border wall necessary in the first place.

If you made a Venn diagram of TD posters who love tossing out the “you’re in a cult” line and the posters who openly cheered Americans getting fired or businesses shut down over COVID protocol violations, it would be a perfect circle.

Well you do know the amount of trash, that will be everywhere from the third world people using the park as a entry point into the USA would be a lot worse than a wall.

That is , if its left open and it becomes the "place" to enter.

Kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario.

America is 250 years old this year. Why is this suddenly a problem? I was at Big Bend 2 months ago and the park is not trashed. Boquillas Canyon has some Mexicans that leave some of their artwork to make a few bucks but it was not trashed. Why do yall keep spouting off ignorantly?

It’s not a problem currently. I said “if” illegals think they can get through. We will have to wait and see what happens when there is another Democrat administration, but a wall would prevent it ever from happening.

I live in Alpine and spend a good amount of time in the park and South Brewster County. Illegal immigration is not near as bad here than other areas. There is no need for a wall. Give Border Patrol the resources they need. Take a look at Terrell County Sheriff Thadeus Cleveland FB page he discusses illegal immigration and shows arrests.

Parts of the park may need a wall

Obviously the 500 foot high canyon parts dont

It's a shame you have to explain this to some people.

You know a guy named Jan that lives in Alpine by any chance?

While the border in Big Bend is pretty inhospitable, I’ve seen quite a few suspicious vehicles driving those 4WD roads in the middle of the night, and there have been a few unsolved murders as well. Probably drugs and not illegals, though. Funding more enforcement isn’t a bad idea.

Not sure what you are referring to. This place is safe. Trust me, there are
no suspicious vehicles that don’t get pulled over. Unsolved murders? I always like talking about this stuff from non locals.

26-year-old Don Tate took his 5-year-old daughter Boston on a camping trip to Big Bend National Park in Brewster County, Texas. The day after they were supposed to have returned but had not, Boston’s mother and Don’s ex-wife asked Rangers at the park to issue a request to locate. Don and Boston never came out of Big Bend, not alive. Later that day, Don’s brutalized body was found. A few days after that, Boston’s burned remains were discovered in her father’s van. Investigators scrounged to find evidence and a motive, while park visitors and villagers across the Rio Grande in Mexico spoke of the involvement of drug smugglers. Later that year, in December, a scandal in neighboring Presidio County involving the son of a prominent rancher and a drug warrior sheriff further fueled the talk of traffickers executing Boston and Don.

I have visited the park over 35 times in the past. Honestly, I quit counting over 20 years ago. Geology and history buff. Family lives in Marfa. Lifelong friend (Jan) who I asked you about in the original reply has lived in Alpine for 30 years.

You don't have a monopoly on knowing the area. I've probably been going there since before you were born.

I don't know what to tell ya. On my many camping trips, I've seen traffic all hours of the night on remote roads. Probably drug trafficking and not people sneaking in to get jobs.

I had been agreeing with you on one point, but frick it. Build the wall 10 foot higher.

This is stupid

The Great Wall of China was built in the middle of some breathtaking scenery. Its actually more of a focus than the landscape

Grow up

That is ridiculous. Are they really considering putting up a wall in a national park? It won't matter to the cult. frick nature, history and beauty, we have to do what Trump says or he'll call us idiots again.

Because Democrats changed. As recent as 30 years ago, they were against open borders and illegal aliens.

Technically "MAGA", by definition, is a cult.

This is one definition for a cult.
