If you fired the CEO, took all his compensation and split it among all Pizza Hut employees, they might get an extra 30-40 cents an hour, until they stopped operations shortly afterward.
I don't subscribe to C on Z's economics or political take...but I'm not so sure about this statement. Also, do agree that CEO compensation is not all cash...assuming it was though...
The $16/hr rate for drivers is already baked in with the CEO's $16 million compensation. So funding the $4/hr increase is what is at question. 1,200 drivers, 2080 hrs per year would yield ~$9,984,000 that would be needed to cover the increase in minimum wage for all the drivers.
FYI, I don't support the minimum wage increase and think it will hurt all these industries. With that said, N-IN-Out near me is and has been starting worker at $20.50 - $21.00/hr for over a year and still offer better pricing for a meal than McDonalds or Burger King and of course with constant long lines. Not sure how they are able to do that...

Americans are addicted to shite level food. I live near a Mc D's, Cookout, and Chick Fi Lay and they are constantly wrapped in the drive thru.

Force businesses to raise wages.
Business fires employees.
It's almost like some people knew this would happen. They must have been very lucky with their wizard prediction

I use when I'm staying in hotels pretty often. Never at home though.

Those two Pizza Hutt franchises will save an estimated 10 million dollars if those drivers work twenty hours a week for 50 weeks.
It adds up.
It adds up.

You know, I have seen people over the years call you out but this right here is one of the most idiotic statements I have seen in a while. Your ignorance on business is astonishing.
I can see why now that people call you out.
But there's an entire party in this country that thinks like him. And the people they elect putting policy into place based on these beliefs. They are too dumb to know how the world and business works, despite the fact that anyone with a few firing neurons knows ahead of time what the "unintended" consequences will be. And if I had to wager a guess, the solution will be more government involvement and laws to manage this new phenomenon they've created.
But I think it's great that places like CA, Chicago, and NYC are going all in on this progressive experiment. It allows the rest of the country to see how idiotic it is.

Fast-food workers in the state are set to get a pay bump of close to 30% in April as the minimum wages rises from $16 to $20 an hour.

CEO is going to get a huge bonus for saving the company millions in wages and payroll taxes.
