As long as the management company is cashing section 8 checks, they aren’t going to care.
True. So follow the money trail and see what can be done to hold them accountable to provide a safe and livable environment for everyone. Section 8 housing starts as a HUD funded program. So reach out to:
LA New Orleans Field Office
Hale Boggs Federal Building
500 Poydras Street
9th Floor
New Orleans, LA 70130
SYLVIA PURVIS
Field Office Director
(504) 671-3000
Fax(202) 485-5728
to see what can be done.
FYI, it will not happen overnight, but if you want a change, you just can't wish for it....

I wish there was a way to close that apartment complex. 95% of the issues in that area come from that complex.
Has anyone contacted the owner of the apartments to report the issues that are occurring and hold them accountable for the activities at the complex?

This is actually the intersection of Haight Street and Ashby Street. Haight Street is the famous street where all the action happened and still is. It dead ends into Golden Gate Park.

Niger's economy is based largely on subsistence crops, livestock, and some of the world's largest uranium deposits.
Good thing the country with the largest uranium reserves is Australia. Let me know when they cut ties with the west. Next largest is Kazakhstan who has moved away from Russia’s orbit since the invasion of Ukraine.
True and both statements can be true at the same time.
The issue is controlling access to a nonrenewable resource that is extremely valuable and challenging to our long-term security. It’s not just about securing our access to these resources but preventing access to others…indeed it seems unreasonable to lock down uranium worldwide; however, one can try to make sure the deposits are “secured” as best they can be from the bad actors.

re: Need help recalling details- deadly hit and run on Indian mounds early 1980's?

It was a baseball player. The couple was sitting together about 1/2 way down on the east side and the vehicle (truck) drove over the top from the opposite side and rolled down over her and then drove off. Stupid move and very unlucky for the couple.
The incident I'm referring to is the Jeep incident. I don't know if the girl lived or died. It was a mess.

re: California Pizza Huts lay off all delivery drivers ahead of minimum wage increase

If you fired the CEO, took all his compensation and split it among all Pizza Hut employees, they might get an extra 30-40 cents an hour, until they stopped operations shortly afterward.
I don't subscribe to C on Z's economics or political take...but I'm not so sure about this statement. Also, do agree that CEO compensation is not all cash...assuming it was though...
The $16/hr rate for drivers is already baked in with the CEO's $16 million compensation. So funding the $4/hr increase is what is at question. 1,200 drivers, 2080 hrs per year would yield ~$9,984,000 that would be needed to cover the increase in minimum wage for all the drivers.
FYI, I don't support the minimum wage increase and think it will hurt all these industries. With that said, N-IN-Out near me is and has been starting worker at $20.50 - $21.00/hr for over a year and still offer better pricing for a meal than McDonalds or Burger King and of course with constant long lines. Not sure how they are able to do that...

• McDonald's EBITDA for the twelve months ending September 30, 2023 was $13.371B, a 20.74% increase year-over-year.

I was there that day too. It was a beat down, it was glorious, and it was long over due. Some of the Bama fans even said after the game they don't ever recall taking such a beating.
I was in Tuscaloosa in 2019, and the feeling was just as glorious. And to hear the Bama fans melt in the stadium only heightened the feeling.
