Actually, they're not.

The DC to Boston corridor is due to off the books corporate welfare, but CA is a net producer.

Dude....you do realize historically California has been a conservative state right?

Reagan, Nixon, etc

Only because of Mexican immigration is it a blue state

And guess what....the state was just as good when it was under red rule

Holy shite it's insane how wrong you are. You're pointing out Reagan as evidence of CA being conservative? REAGAN?

First of all, Reagan won every state except for idk what it Was? Minnesota? I mean, come on, the whole country was in love with him.

Secondly, California was his home state.

Thirdly, and this is sad to admit, but people all over this country love celebrities. Schwarzenegger, Trump, Jesse Ventura. People on both sides of the aisle get enamored by a face they recognize.

California is not a "red state". You're out of your mind if you think that.

Reading comprehension ain’t your thing

It is a FACT that California was a republican state in the 20th century. The republican nominee won California in every 20th century election but the fdr years and Clinton

HW bush won it in 1988

California can die a slow, painful death for all I care. Morally bankrupt state. The nation will be just fine without it.

No, that's wrong. California is a net contributor.

To summarize for those of you with reading comprehension issues, California receives $.78 for every $1.00 it contributes. That means California is a donor state helping to keep a lot of other states afloat.

But hey, let's get rid of them and their $2.7 trillion economy. That sounds smart.

You guys are idiots.

California keeps shitholes like Louisiana afloat. These hicks should be thanking Californians for their service.

You really think it would be good at all for the US the economy if they left? It would be horrible for both sides.

Of course I don’t think it would be good if they left. It would be worse for them in the long run though
.

I do think it would be good if they split up into different states though.

Huge state with diverse political populations completely railroaded by the big cities.

If it split into about 3 states it would be better overall. More diversity of thought

Dude, your Napoleonic fantasies of conquering California are just daydreams. Nobody is seceding, and nobody is blockading California's ports or occupying the streets of San Francisco. Let it go. We get that you hate them, but this reflects poorly on you.

I don’t hate them. I just think the normal folks there are drowned out by the illegals and the junkies and the crazies. Nothing wrong with the state splitting up.

California has the country's largest population. I think they are normal and you are the minority.

And you keep saying that because it would benefit your side politically. There's no other reason for it, whatsoever. Just more "conservative" whining about a state they can't control.

right, because you prefer the tyranny of the majority. We should all be ruled by what people in the big cities think.

California's public education is in the tank so I'm sure that sets up a bright future.

I think the very idea of splitting California up was put forward by some billionaire conservative activists who want to break up California's influence in national elections. It has nothing to do with democracy and everything to do with money and power.
