No.

I live in California
A few points
1) yes, the state is doing well economically. A state with this many exogenous factors in its favor (ample coast line, diverse resources, access to asia) should be doing well
2) That does not mean the state doesn’t have problems. It has among the highest out migration rates of any state in the country. Middle class residents are finding it harder and harder to live here. Our home ownership rate is lowest in the country, and our homelessness rate is among the highest.
3) adjusted for col, California has highest poverty rate in the country m
4) it’s a bad state to live in if you are middle class and want to get ahead. If you are poor and qualify for funds or relatively well off, it’s a fine state to live in
5) California is by far the most economically unequal state in the nation. It seems at least somewhat hypocritical to glorify the state while also holding as a principle the idea that inequality is bad

You really think it would be good at all for the US the economy if they left? It would be horrible for both sides.

California is a pretty conservative state outside the Bay Area and LA
We’re not all bad!!
California is similar to the south in one key metric;
Our politics are very divided along racial lines
White Californians are republican by a large margin
Non-whites are Democrat by a large margin, with exception of Vietnamese

I’ve heard so many different stories about California.... if I knew I had the means I would mover there in a heartbeat... but only north of San Fran..... sure it’s expensive but it’s such a beautiful place...... however.... if I knew I had the means I would rather live in Montana......

They rely on a large amount (33%) of their electricity from surrounding states. If they exit I hope some redneck cuts the lines immediately. There would be mass panic. They live in a bubble out there thinking they are the shite. Can you imagine if 33% of the population suddenly no longer had electricity? It would be a mutiny of epic proportions.

Honestly letting them “leave” might do great things.
As soon as they voted to exit (which I believe they have the right to) then they would fracture into several states.
There would be infighting. There would be carnage as their systems failed.
The US could seize their ports and once the herd is thinned and culled, you bring the new states that were once California back into the fold.
California doesn’t survive on their own. They’d collapse and quickly. Too many people there In the big cities who don’t understand that all the things they depend on don’t come from the happy unicorn fart factory
That's interesting, because you just pulled this entire story from the Unicorn Fart Factory. And you probably jerked off to it while in front of a mirror, you sick twisted bitch.

The feelings conservatives have for California are very similar to the feelings the rest of the world has for the USA as whole but they don't really put these two things together of course

are you talking about California or the GOP budget, I need clarification here
Posted on 5/5/18 at 11:10 am to EmperorGout
Dude....you do realize historically California has been a conservative state right?
Reagan, Nixon, etc
Only because of Mexican immigration is it a blue state
And guess what....the state was just as good when it was under red rule
