Because they intentionally provide sanctuary for illegal immigrants, have much more stringent requirements for buying a handgun than for voting, require you to join a corrupt union to be in certain professions like teaching, are about to pass a law to ban certain books, and allow minors to obtain abortion without parental consent. And they want to leave. Good place to visit with a lot of natural economic advantages, but ultimately a state that is culturally foreign to mainstream America.

It would work well for the SE. We have better port cities, and extremely fertile ground.

Honestly letting them “leave” might do great things.

As soon as they voted to exit (which I believe they have the right to) then they would fracture into several states.

There would be infighting. There would be carnage as their systems failed.

The US could seize their ports and once the herd is thinned and culled, you bring the new states that were once California back into the fold.

California doesn’t survive on their own. They’d collapse and quickly. Too many people there In the big cities who don’t understand that all the things they depend on don’t come from the happy unicorn fart factory.

For you liberal haters, you should redirect your animosities to the Northeast, rather than California.
California is a much more beautiful area than New York.

They also rely on Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona for water.

Without the Colorado River Los Angeles ceases to exist.

Are there crazies in California? I'll be the first to agree. In a state of 40 million people it's bound to happen.

Baws create a straw man of what Cali is like and argue that is what it really is.

Place is successful despite its leaders but who in south can say we are without jackass politicians and retarded voters?

You guys have kept hoping this will happen for over 60 years and they’ve just become bigger and better and the technological hub of the world. I’m surpirsed all the smartest people in America aren’t moving to Kansas.

I'm sure LA will die a slow, painful death from complete lack of water before capitalizing on the 700 million km^3 we share 800 miles of coastline with. Just spitballing potential solutions here.

I love the idea that the nation’s most populous state and the biggest exporter of American culture is outside the American mainstream

California is doing well. DWI.

You really think they wouldn’t end up like Venezuela?

You think all the prosperous businesses will stay there if the extremists have their way?
