What about gas stoves? I love my gas stove. Power ever goes out, there is still away to cook.
Im starting to think the people who are pushing so hard for having all electric vehicles by a certain time, doing away with other forms of energy by a certain time, etc are all invested in companies that would benefit by people using less "natural" gas.

This is comical. Aren't natural gas appliances typically more efficient than electric?
For instance, the amount of energy requured to heat a certain volume of water by a certain amount of degrees, is the same. However, the energy input to do so varies significantly. Burning it directly where it is needed is going to be the most efficient, because it's a finite amount. If you burn coal or gas at a plant, it still has to be delivered to the water heater, plus a plant is producing a consistent amount of energy, whether it is being used or not. Dame goes for a furnace or a stove. Excess is not getting stored and is wasted. You go California, produce more green house gases and waste more, meanwhile disguising it as being green. What a fricking contradiction.

Are any of these mandates being voted on (not that it may make a difference since there seems to be a majority there that are just fricking stupid and eaten up with this nonsense)? Are they being mandated with executive orders or does CA have an alphabet agency to determine these things? I mean I would think that in a democracy, voting on such destructive policies would be important to ensure the will of the people. I can't think of any sane person (again I know there are not a lot in Cali) that would want to not use natural gas to heat your home and cook with as a small example.

Yeah they should do this immediately. Boycott energy from Texas.
This is all being done with the notion that Texas is going to turn blue and start sending energy to California.

They just had to send out a call to arms to not charge EV's or use a/c's so lets put a shitload more load on the infrastructure. The appliances needed to generate heat require a shite ton of electricity.
These people are incredibly disingenuous.

At what cost?
Texas may sell it to California but the next Enron could decide that the spot market needs a boost and create demand in California.

Another Great idea! Only thing they have to figure out is how to power every thing.
Fine example of, Dont put the cart before the horse

Every single implementation of a green energy policy sooner than 25 years from now is putting the cart before the horse. Battery life, charging stations, power grid, where does power come from, how not to run out of power and water, etc....all of it. None of these guys have a clue what early adoption will do to cripple these places. The ones doing the crippling will have the means to abandon ship when it devolves into chaos....others notsomuch.

Well I hope they can bottle some unicorn farts. Electric is the least efficient way to produce heat.

This is what the government is about to push hard. Use of gas heat is on it's way out. Big rebates coming for heat pumps.

I wonder if the people will begin voting with their wallets, and if so, how long it takes for these politicians to begin acting like they never had anything to do with the green new deal in the first place.

Why does California’s hate the poor?

It’s time we start calling these dumbasses exactly what they are, on a national level
What the frick is wrong with these people? Why are ALL liberals so fricking stupid? At this point, anyone with a lick of sense should leave that shithole state. Let those liberal figs have their own little utopia while everything crumbles around them
frick them and their mental illness

It's really only two areas that are batshit crazy. LA metro and Bay area. That's where a majority of the population is situated.

We're discussing electricity vs NG. Well, is it more efficient to generate electricity centrally and distribute it via power lines, or is it more efficient to pipe NG to distribute?
So, I think it applies....
