Meh. I think we need the food more than the people here to be honest. It’s too many people in too small of an area to support them. I read somewhere to be self reliant you need around one acre a person. I don’t expect self reliance on urban areas but it doesn’t take genius to see the population density here is too much. We need to shift more food production to areas of greater resources. And we have to accept seasonal grows with canning. Maybe we don’t need some fresh vegetables year round?

To you shitposters, remember this the next time you’re complaining about some yank’s hot take. You’re no better than they are.

Then how in the world do you expect progressive democrats to retain power?!

1,200 years? Freaking drama queens. That’s so exaggerated. Is is bad sure? Why can’t they leave it at that. Why stretch the numbers?

Careful now, that’s how the old folks thought, and they were racist

I don’t know for sure but they probably can tell from the redwoods?

They make these floating plastic balls (think similar to an old McDonalds ball pit but much sturdier) that will effectively cover the surface of the water.

Evaporation is a huge deal in arid climates.
Iirc, those aren’t just for evaporation.

The problem actually started with bromide, a natural substance found in salt water. Bromide on its own is harmless to humans, but if some of this salty water creeps into the reservoir and undergoes ozone treatment with the rest of LA's drinking water, it can form the compound bromate. And bromate is a carcinogen. The LA Department of Water and Power thought they were keeping tabs on these bromate levels, but for some reason, the carcinogen kept spiking when the water entered the reservoir. It turns out, when bromide and chlorine interact with sunlight, the reaction produces even more bromate than when the former interacts with ozone.

Hahahah Like voting mattered.
Election fraud for the win.

Just bury it like we do windmill blades.

California is severely overpopulated.
The land cannot sustain the population. Its an environmental disaster.

Why don’t we dump those in the ocean to make artificial reefs like they do with old ships

If they are too toxic to burn then I am assuming whatever they give off when they degrade is also toxic.

Thank you Roger. The problem is far more simple than the political ideaology of leaders. Too many fricking people and not enough space. I blame cars. We need to live where we work and eat food from where we live.

California has made their bed. Now they can lay in it….

Decades of releasing billions of gallons of water to the ocean in an attempt to save the Delta smelt has been a proven failure. This year alone, California has flushed over 1 million acre-feet of water out to sea, enough to provide 6 million domestic users with water for a year or grow almost 17 billion salads.
Decades old state and federal policies have failed and brought delta smelt to the brink of extinction. The very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

The Hexprotect® AQUA hexagonal system ensures coverage of up to 99%. The resulting thermal insulation barrier combines the insulation factor of the air held in each tile with the poor heat conductivity of plastic. The cover also reduces liquid loss through evaporation

I thought I read you type they weren’t for evaporation, not “just for evaporation”
You’re 100% correct. Not just for evaporation.

Yep, because its not just Cali. AZ and LV too.
The entire SW is a time bomb with few water resources. Wars have been fought over water.
