Another note. All these places shown are 3-5 hour drives from SF, LA and SD where most people in the state live. Most of the people around here never take to time to go visit the amazing landscape in this area. It's really sad the number of people I know who have never been to Yosemite.
Also a lot of these places are brown 2/3rds of the year when there is a lack of rainfall. Don't let the greenery fool you.
Very beautiful state but I'll be moving to the more beautiful Pacific Northwest in a few years.

Sorry, after the geography/landscape, there is nothing worth considering in CA. Taxes are ridiculous, real estate absurd & outrageous cost of living. Nice place to visit, but ......

I love this! I live here but still so many places left to explore. I love the hikes through point Reyes. The Tule Elk there are amazing. The Rim trail around Lake Tahoe is beautiful too. We need to get to the Modoc...it still blows my mind how diverse the land is here..desert, beaches, forest. It really is the most phenomenal state in the nation.

Glacier Point is just one of many places in Yosemite.
Taft's Point Is one of the most under rated places of the Valley.
Another is Sentinel Dome, one of the only places you get a 360 view of the park.
