California's task force on reparations released a new report, detailing how slavery and racism have harmed generations of African Americans ... and now it's gearing up for some major reinstitution.
The task force chair, Kamilah Moore, joined us on "TMZ Live" to talk all about the 500-page report, which looks at all the harms Black people have endured from the start of the slave trade, up until to current day.

Kamilah says, the report is the most extensive completed by a government body on the African American community since 1968 ... and it explains how California has systemically oppressed Black residents in education, workplace, homeownership and several other aspects of life
quote:
Kamilah says the task force is calling for reparations to be paid to descendants of slaves or free Black people who lived in the U.S. prior to 1900. As of now, they have not finalized how much the compensation will be -- but they've hired 5 economists to help sort that out by next summer.
That number will be recommended to the CA legislature, and Kamilah hopes it will become a model for the rest of the country.

Maybe all black people that really want reparations that bad will move there and setup residency. Then California can foot the bill for the rest of the country.
The rest of us (including the black people that don't believe in that crap) can just go about our lives in peace.

I fully support Californians paying reparations.

California definitely needs to waste even more money on stupid shite, so this is a great call for them.

I'm a white dude with confirmed African slave ancestry, I'm in.

Slavery is abhorrent, but it's the best thing that ever happened to the descendants of enslaved people.

The African slave trade is the worst thing ever to happen to America.

I agree with paying reparations to anyone alive who has been a slave

Political posturing
Will never be enforced because it is fricking impossible to punish someone for a crime they never committed. Every cent would essentially be dirty money

So what percentage of sub Saharan DNA does one need to get money?

True. I mean, it's been what, 10 generations since Slavery was a thing?
It's been 60 years since affirmative action started. Still not enough time?
