Why do we even need dyes in food. Just let it look like what it’s supposed to look like ffs

All about Money / Marketing. It would not be as appealing, enticing, to children; candy, cereals, cookies, cakes, fruit drinks, etc...

All done to make food more addicting. Especially highly processed profitable foods.

I read the title of this post and thought they were banning off road farm diesel and was about to have an aneurysm considering I use about 20,000 gallons of it a year

They have been purposely poisoning us. Why does a jar of pickles need yellow dye?
I completely agree, but at least part of the reason is the average American is a fricking baby bird attracted to shiny things. If pickles were the same drab color they are naturally, then Jaydynne couldn't deal with that.

Dude farm fuel was $.40/gallon in the early-mid 90’s. Something changed with Clinton.

They started dying it in 1994.

I was told recently by a fuel distributor baw there is no difference in the composition of off-road and on-road fuel, only the dye and tax. I always thought (assumed) there was a sulfur content difference

Nope, they just dye the Off Road Diesel. Not so much anymore, but in the past i've had some of my trucks get their tanks dipped by DOT to check the color of fuel to make sure you aren't running Off Road Fuel.

correct. why should we care about the colors of food and drink? taste and health are most important.
