By their theory of reparations, shouldnt the Jews be allowed compensation?

Over 6 million slaughtered between 1941 to 1945. Millions of hard labor hours spent with zero compensation. Suffering of systematic oppression etc.... but one group seems to have overcome their tragic forefathers plight better than the other. Why is that?

I am fairly certain the Holocaust was a big factor in creating the state of Israel.
