cramped and cash... and why do you not understand they are still open? It’s perfect.

Joe's Crab Shack always baffled me because they made it a long time but I think Covid finally killed it.

I like Joe's, it was always consistent IMO, vs Red Lobster which I wonder how the F they're still going. I miss back in the day all you can eat crab legs at red lobster.

Chinese Restaurant (real name) on Nicholson close to downtown. Place was around when my sister was at LSU in 1980. Across from where the glorious Ponchos used to be :(

You talking about Red Flower? I took my mother in there during freshman year in 2003. I insisted because I liked it. The woman looked me directly in the eye and said “You ever bring me back in here and I’ll slap the fire out you.”

My mother does not visit the ghetto.

The real restaurant that you should be surprised is still open…

Drusilla Seafood. We went about 2 months ago because we had a nostalgic streak. It was objectively terrible.

We have this thread every so often so I'll bite.

Podnuh's BBQ.

Only two locations left in BR, Sherwood and Florida. Both hood adjacent and failing.

Food is average in price and quality and cleanliness standards are especially low, much more at the Sherwood location.

The old dude that owns the place was in there once chasing flies with a flyswatter. I walked in once and damn near tripped over a roach scurrying across the floor.

I have since decided I don't want their BBQ that bad even though their sauce recipe is awesome and the beans are the best I have ever had.

Never ate there even back when it was sketchy and I was in college (2003-2007).

The people I did know who did were fiercely loyal to the place though.

Celebrity Theaters. I went last night, it’s a great clean place. Only downside is the screens don’t seem like the best size or quality.

The only thing I remember about that place. Very thin sauce which was very good.

When I lived in BR they had a place on corner of bluebonnet and some cross street. Shopping center: I used to go in there and drink beer there regularly for the short while it was open.

R&K has been closed for remodeling. Likely won’t open again since city is in negotiations to buy property to extend road
