Serious question-where is that retarded Mayor? There is all kind of shite happening in the city and she is invisible. Not that she’d be helpful but now she just refuses to do her job. Unless it’s to travel on the taxpayers’ dime.

Further away the better.

Honestly, wish all her power was gone and the council had control. Might be a better way to run a city.

Drive anywhere in this country and you will see derelict structures. Attractive nuisances aren't just a NOLA culture thing.

I’m not sure what that means??

It's a loophole to get around the historic karens' zeal against tearing down literally anything ever.

I don't agree with the practice...but I get it.

I'm sure the building started to collapse which pulled the attached electrical lines down and that caused the transformer to blow.

Looks like collapse started prior to 1st flash.

Yeah, you can clearly hear and see the transformers blowing after the initial rumble of rubble.

Entergy is the worst private utility in America but you can’t blame them for this

I get that, but it has a specialized meaning in New Orleans because of all the restrictions on modifying homes and other structures, tearing down same, etc. There aren't so many places where owners intentionally let their properties waste away (or outright sabotage them) just to game the permiting system.

I believe she’s avoiding the press with the trial of that guy that bribed her to skirt building code enforcement/inspections going on

Weird coincidence that we have had no weekly building collapses lately

You're probably just hyperaware of NOLA for one reason.

But the environmental conditions play a large part in decay here as well. Just maintaining a home here probably takes more than most environments around the country; add 150 year+ construction and you probably have higher risk.

I streamed “Transformers” on Netflix, earlier today.

It could’ve been me.

There’s a vitally important conference in Monte Carlo she had to attend.

I’m always surprised more of this doesn’t happen in the French Quarter with everyone on the balcony’s.

The early 1800 structures were three brick deep on the walls from ground level to second floor. (Our use of second floor, not the classic use). Anyway three bricks and some mortar holding them together will support a lot more weight than two bricks which is all you've got above that second floor beginning on that three course.
