Undisclosed amounts of their beer is expiring unused and being written off as a loss coast to coast along with sitting on taps in bars that aren’t generating revenue for bars.

all the BMC brands are pretty strict with quality control. They will make distributors destroy product after it expires, unlike a craft brewery that will let their beers shelf turd (good for stouts/sours, awful for IPAs)

I use to work with some distributors. They tried to offer to sell expired products to farmers for cattle feed and Miller said no. They do not want anything hitting the market accidentally. They also would fire employees caught stealing expired products.

Was playing golf yesterday, asked the cart girl what they had. She said they had sent all their bud light back for some reason.

It's become embarrassing to drink Bud Light in public at all. Even if you have old Bud Light in the fridge from before all of this happened, everyone will give you shite for having a Bud Light. It's finished for the brand among normal people.

Target's stigma is right there too. I have no desire to shop there ever again. People are sick of the bullshite.

Free beer only digs the financial hole deeper. The people who buy the "Free" beer aren't changing brands back to BL. They are just snatching up free beer. The moment it isn't free, they will buy something else.

Agreed. Instead of dudes calling each other gay or a fig, they say, "he drinks bud light."

Lets face it. Its not like there are no alternatives to Bud Light. Its not worth the ricidule or headache to drink a crappy beer with multiple alternatives available.

Leaving a beer in the fridge for over 3 months ain’t exactly heterosexual activity.

I walked into a Target the other week and there wasn't one pride thing in sight. Didn't buy anything I was just killing time. That backlash must have been severe for them to hide their pride.

This started on 1 April so today is the end of their quarter (3 months). During July the quarterly numbers will come out and won’t be pretty.

Another note/question, what timeline is their expiration of beer? Is bottles given longer than cans? I would think they have a lot of unsold beer that is soon expiring.

Can’t wait for the quarterlies. Its not just BL either, their other beers are down too. Up til now they can say a lot but once quarterlies get published the info will be out there.

And even though its quarterlies, the early period can be misleading. If they shipped product until orders stopped or slowed down, its a big network and even if sales went down it takes time to trickle back. Every week got worse in that quarter too.

And who would take their bribe and give away your contact info for a constant barrage of spam offers? They want you back so they can rub your back like a pet. Good boy, now drink your tranny beer.

I will not to drink any of their brands. Hard to do because they own a lot. List of Americas brands:

* Modelo

Not all of these are AB owned. If you buy Modelo in the US, you are not giving AB money. It's only companies having to buy it out of the country that have to go through InBev that would give them money.

I don't know how many of those on that list are like that but I'm sure quite a few.

I only know this because I saw an article about Modelo being the top selling beer in the US for the first time ever I think.

why does the OT have such a problem understanding this.

also I haven't seen bud light under $24 anywhere, so $15 rebate isn't gonna cover the cost.

It really is amazing how brands can get so big that they completely lose any idea of why their product actually sells or how the market they sell in actually operates. Literally no one bought Bud Light because of the product itself, it was all marketing. If you make a severe miscalculation in that marketing, the product will go belly up every time. Not only has that been exposed, but it has entered the common vernacular that your product represents the polar opposite of what you sold for generations. They deserve every bit of what they are getting, and at some point this will whole fiasco will probably become fodder in a marketing textbook.
