Bucking an OT trend: I like our front load washer

Thought about this because of a thread on the home & garden board.
It's an LG, it's been running for years, and it cleans our clothes well. We clean the drum and the seals often and we leave the door slightly open when it's not in use. It's gentle on our clothes too, which is important because (as I'm sure S can tell you) OT ballers buy some fabrics that aren't built to sit in a top loader agitator cycle.

Agreed, our Whirlpool front load is quiet as a church mouse. Don't mind having to leave the door open.
Gotta take care of them high dollar Masters shirts.

I don't have to do this at all.

Ours is great but the damn doors are opposite from the wall hook ups. It annoys me every time I change loads. Been mad for 10 years

My circa 2017 Speed Queens* Neanderthal Top Loaders will be using copious amounts of water and energy and cleaning the frick out of shite long after your Rube Goldberg front loader has been dissected by Bangledeshi kids for some rare earths.
*Thanks Napoleon for the tip, and mine are hugely noisy too. I forgot that.
I’m not washing the Bayeaux Tapestry in my washers. I don’t need each load weighed (dry) before washing.

I’ll have to ask my wife if we are discussing washers

Is this gay slang? I’m pretty sure this is gay slang. Is there a subtext here we need to be aware of? Speak freely, this is a safe space, you are among friends.

but can you program your washer to play the LSU fight song?

Why would a front load (appart from the seal on the door) be any nastier than a top load? Or vice versa?
Explain it to me like I’m a freshman senator from Pennsylvania.

I thought real OT ballers sent all their clothes out for cleaning?

There is always water in a front loader and way more chance of mildew/bad smells coming from the washer. If your washer has a funky smell which cause your clothes to have a funky smell then doesn’t that some what defeat the purpose.
