The food in the truckstop restaurant across the street(Rascals) is damn good. Stop in on Thursdays for the best fried chicken around, be early or else you'll be waiting for a table.

I’ll have to check it out - thanks. I usually stop at the Love’s since it’s new(ish) with clean bathrooms.

This will put a hurtin' on all of those interstate exit boudin shops.

Everything at those boudin shops is better than Bucee's. I don't get the fascination either. A couple of things are good, but nothing mind blowing. Give me The Best Stop, Don's, Billy's NuNu's or Kartchner's all day, every day, over Bucee's. Now the bathrooms are clean and they run a nice operation, I'll give them that.

I don't either, from what I understand it's a gas station right? I'm not driving all the way to the north end of town just to use a gas station.

Its target market is not local people crossing town for gas.

I spent the first 25 years of my life within a mile of that exit location-- most before that exit existed, and watched it devolve.

So are you trying to say that the I-49 exit or the Ambassador Caffery exit is less hood adjacent than that exit?

But, please enlighten me more, coonass.

Probably not possible, dumbass.

Who said that? Nobody, cornholer.

Just pointing out that family lived in that neighborhood since 1970. I wouldn't put up a megastore with row after row of shop-liftable snacks in that spot.

Oh, I'm not saying there are many better exits in betwen the Texas line and Baton Rouge. Just pointing out this one from experience.

Exit 97

THE great I-10 food exit.

I had heard something like that.

All better than anything in St. Martin parish.

I live near Breaux Bridge and this has been my gripe. BB and Henderson exit areas are not very modern or aesthetically pleasing. Henderson was handed a DOTD gift of dual roundabouts and can’t even cut the fricking grass.

If they could build at the Whiskey Bay exit it would be a $1B location just from people going in when the bridge is shut down

And dumping a body always builds a yuge appetite.

Best you got?

So your family has lived someplace for over 50 years you wouldn't advise putting a store in? Where in the Lafayette area with an exit and adequate land space would you recommend putting in a store?

Do you mean like Target or Aldi?

Shoplifting is an unfortunate constant in the retail business. It has been for decades, it's part of why crap is so expensive now. Companies do their research about locations and account for loss due to shoplifting in prices.

High priced, great variety but delicious jerky, really good sammiches, and the bestess cleanest toilets for a great roadside dumping experience. Also, elbow to elbow crowds it seems at any time I have stopped at one.

We’ll manage to have the most a-hole bucees staff in America.

I am truly interested in seeing how they will pull this part of the operation together. Where will they find more than a few courteous folk to work their store?

I’ve never seen one west of Georgia.
We've had one on Hwy 33 (Farmerville Hwy) in Ruston for maybe a year. A new one is about to open south of I-20, past the Academy store, in West Monroe.

They pay very well. They won’t have problems finding good employees
