Aplin told Texas Monthly magazine he had plans to grow across the Southeast using the same formula that made Buc-ee’s so popular in Texas: building stores between major driving markets such as Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham and Charlotte.
So it'd have to be between New Orleans and...??? What "major driving markets" would fit their strategy in Louisiana?
Stopped at the Leeds spot for a second time on the way to Atlanta last week. It can be more of a pain in the arse than its worth. But it's interesting to see at least once. They had two left turn lanes DEDICATED to turning into Buccees Blvd.

No, I-49 is the outlet for rednecks with trailers on the back of them. See above post near Scott. That's the ticket.

Louisiana is WAY too greedy...the things they asked Buccee's to do to give them the ok to build are ridiculous
Spot on, starting with demanding Buccees use a specific construction general contractor. The state is fricked and this is another example of why the decline in population, especially compared to other southern states.
Leave if you can because it’s getting the results its residents elect. An elite few will do exceptionally well, but the state will always lag its peers.

because Louisiana is a shithole
And yet because they chose Mississippi over Louisiana, that somehow just makes something I really don’t care about one way or another that much more embarrassing.

They'll probably put one up in Orange, Texas next just to give Louisiana the finger.

Louisiana is an economic desert. Fortune 500 companies with a branch in Louisiana are few. Idea: can we have other states invest in different parts of Louisiana ? Would the French Quarter run better if a company like Caesar's took it over and ran it ?

I personally think the whole Buc-ee’s phenomenon is more than just a little strange,
What's strange about brisket sandwiches and a wall of jerky? They have damn near anything someone would want to eat, wear or drink. Oh and throw in the fact that they give their gas away at cost and have a million pumps to service everyone.
Yeah strange.... I can't imagine anyone wanting to take a break there.

What if I told you that they are building one in North Alabama on a two lane road that already has too much traffic and hasn't been repaved in nearly 20 years in a county that refuses to spend the money to keep up said road even though it is required to do so by state law because it is a major North/South evacuation route in the area of Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant?

Vote NO to Buc-ees. It'll make crime go up, we won't do anything productive with the tax revenues anyways, drugs would go up, buc-ees in arizona never delivered on promises made, i'm a business owner and i vote no.
And your mindset is typical of average LA voter and why LA ranks where it does it most quality of life measures.
This, in spite of incredible natural resources and home the largest navigable waterway in North America. It’s difficult for LA to fail but it has, and miserably.

And then there’s those like you who take it even further over the edge and make it a damn religious affiliation. You brand self identifiers are the strangest of all.
Your lack of access to actually great food is very sad, almost as sad as your identifying with a freakin GAS STATION and GAS STATION FOOD. It’s never going to NOT BE weird.

I would spend like a simp to an onlyfans for a campaign to make this actually happen.

Auburn is getting one and I’m pretty pumped about it.

Because LA sucks for business.

The Millerville location would have been horrible anyways. That's way too much added traffic to an area with horrible traffic flow. Not to mention it needs to be built someone not in a shite hole city. They wouldn’t have been able to hire good workers in that location. Somewhere outside of Lafayette would do well.
They are building a gun range and firearms store in that location. Probably more useful in BR. Something called Shoot Point Blank.

They're already in Georgia and currently under construction in two spots here in South Carolina.
