Do you also have "massive concerns" about illegal and forced entry of America's sovereign borders by hordes of un-vetted foreigners?
Yes. Listen to this thought, it's possible to want strong borders while also believing that rounding up and deporting everyone is not a viable strategy. Juan in Kenner who's been there since 2005 working construction and has never been arrested isn't the problem, but permanent resident Mohammed in Dearborn who was involved in a massive fraud scandal funneling money to Somali pirates surely is. My opinion is focus on Mohammed first, and figure out Juan later.

What it they are directly and indirectly stealing resources and jobs from American taxpayers?
The irony is that you are calling them leaches stealing resources while also conceding they are working. Cut the welfare checks and you can maybe talk me into the need for mass deportations after.

Destabilizing the peace in established communities and in every American institution?
This is pure scapegoating. Most of the destabilization of established communities comes from groups that are here legally and/or are citizens.

I thought Brothers all closed down. They've had major issues with staying open due to the shady way they conduct business.

This is the leading nightmare of any small business owner. You take the day off to go fish, come back to town and there is your business and some hourly employee has done some shite that made it to the internet.

Don't argue the emotion (they are innocent children!). Argue the facts. Illegal aliens voraciously enjoy the fruits of the american government. Schools, healthcare, public assistance and they don't pay into the system. That is a problem for me.
The nondenominational church by my house does a food drive a few times a year. When I walk by the church while walking the dog on the mornings of the drive, there is a line down the block of people waiting to get in to benefit from the food donations. 90% are able bodied Hispanics. And I'm not exaggerating. 90% of that line are people between the age of 30-50 who are all standing around jabbering to each other in Spanish.
The other 10% are white elderly people, and other whites who also seem to be able bodied.
10 years ago, that same line was a lot smaller, and was made up primarily of blacks and elderly whites.

Yes, the CATO Institute is well-known for supporting open borders. I'm completely surprised that they managed to massage data enough to support their preconceived results.

5% of Detainees Have Violent Criminal History, 73% Have No Convictions quote
So just ignoring the previous 8 months and focusing on the illegals picked up starting with the shutdown most of the recent illegals picked do not have criminal convictions which should have served to throw them out in the first place.
quote:Which means more than half had convictions or have pending charges. This is confirmed by their own numbers that state 26% of these illegals have some kind of conviction and another 26% of these illegals have pending charges.
Nearly half had no criminal conviction nor even any pending criminal charges.
Besides the crime of being in the country illegally are you saying that none of the remaining 47% have committed other crimes but just not yet caught?

I don't know how Orleans and Jefferson fund their schools, but most places fund it based on property taxes. Someone's legal status doesn't impact their paying of property taxes. I would proffer that someone who is illegal paying property taxes is contributing more financially to the education system than someone on Section 8, but the argument isn't that we should deny someone on Section 8 access to our public school system. On top of that, sales taxes, vice taxes, etc are paid by everyone no matter their status. I don't have a link or facts, but just from personal experience I would put the amount of people here illegally with work permits or ITIN's at like 80%, meaning they are also paying income taxes.
Until you factor in that schools have to hire additional staff to teach ESL....which costs money and resources. Or that teachers have to slow down their lessons for the rest of the class to make sure the students who aren't proficient in English are understanding what's being said or to have someone translate.

crime of being in the country illegally
The law needs to change, because as written currently, it's not a crime to be in the country illegally, but the process to deport carries the same procedure as a crime (detaining, holding, processing, deportation). Just a heads for those that may come across the liberal screaming "it's not a crime reeeeeeeee!!!". I'm sure SFP will be in here spouting some bullshite about a case in 1912 and why it can't be, but the fact remains that we have a process to make it illegal and should pursue it.
