The bigger trim package you have on a vehicle = the bigger idiot you are when it comes to managing finances.

What is trim level? I would have asked him bc I don't think that's anything to brag about considering I don't know what it is.

Only three situations I can think of where this isn't snobby.
1. Both people in the conversation have the same model/trim and are wanting to talk about a certain feature exclusive to the trim they have. ("Hey, do you have the sunroof? Mine's been acting up and I'm not sure if I'm pressing the right button." - This would be perfectly acceptable)
2. One of the two people is in the market for that same car and is doing their due diligence about what trim is right for them.
3. There is a certain feature exclusive to the trim that is relevant to other conversation. For example, I know I've mentioned to somebody that my car has built-in sunshades in the back window that are very useful if you have small kids... but this was only because the other person had mentioned their kid couldn't nap in the car because of glare from the sun. I did not feel the need to mention to specify my trim level, though.
In every other scenario it is indeed lame AF to bring it up unsolicited.

A lot of vehicles you can’t just say hey I want leather seats. You have to get a higher level trim that includes that.

I would never reference the trim on my black 2021 F 150 4WD King Ranch 35k miles on it in a public setting.

You are not the ayatolla assahola. I am beginning to believe I have reached the pinnacle of this world because I can not remember the last time anyone asked me what kind of vehicle I drove(its '23 phantom btw) much less ever ever had the gall to inform me of his "trim package". I would be forced to retort with his wife's full name should anyone ever do so. No offense.

I sure hope he is not boasting about a strip model.

it's how many inches of fender and/or bumper you've sawn off... it's a point of pride for many insecure macho manly types to brag about how small of a parking place the vehicle can be squeezed into after modification.
denali for instance means 18" which of course can go into the compact spots.

Same which would immediately make this thread 3x more interesting.

This. Is it the sub-model like XL, XLT, Platinum, Lariat, etc? I thought it was the FX4, FX2, Sport, etc.
Posted on 12/27/22 at 12:23 pm to Random LSU Hero
Personally I would just say F150–but the diff between an XL model and a King Ranch is like $40k. If I was doing the asking, I would honestly want to know the trim.
The vehicle a person drive says a lot about them, like it or not.

Unless it's the Pleather Plus Venetian Drapes package for his 76' Gremlin, Lame.

Trim level = quality of chick you can pull with said vehicle.

I usually give my VIN number when asked what I drive.
